Hey dudes.

I'm looking for a mic that I can use mostly for recording vocals, but one that is not so sensitive as most condenser mics are to background noise, as I'll be using it in un-soundproofed spaces. But preferably better sounding that an SM58.
An ideas appreciated! cheers.

There's one by audiotechnica that's supposed to be versatile cheap and good, something like the 3035 or something like that....should cost around 300 Euro, but be aware that there is no universal mike... this one, e.g. , is good for vocals or horn players (to a degree) but not at all for drums. Some of the mics can adjust the recording angles, so that might be interesting for ouside noise to be kept away, an SM is actually a live microphone, but you'll be suprised to hear the Björk recorded large portions of her last album with one as the noise outside her NY loft where they made the record was kept out better that way... I 've got one, the sound is ok but you'll get better quality with a dedicated studio mic and mic preamplifier...

hope this helps
