I take it that this is a pisstake of the nursery rhyme....
'10 green bottles standing on the wall'.

The very fact that it's Jaeger makes this a much more exciting proposition. In the future you can imagine, nursery schools around the world using this as a learning tool. The teachers could even drink as the classes sing.
A bit of research & I've found the 1st verse- very amusing....

10 kleine Jaegermeister rauchten einen Joint.
Den einen hat es umgehaun, da warens nur noch 9.
9 kleine Jägermeister wollten gerne erben.
Damit es was zu erben gab, musste einer sterben.
8 kleine Jaegermeister fuhren gerne schnell.
7 fuhren nach Duesseldorf, 1 fuhr nach Koeln.

Any more over-used than a 909, 808 or 303? (...Devils advicate time! ;) )

I think the whole idea of the Amen Andrews project is more of a 'tribute'... Any other way you could look at it, a 5 ep set solely containing the same break with be a rediculous case of overkill(which arguably it is anyway....).

The tunes(those of which I HAVE heard) rock... Job done!

Funnily enough . . . I've been working on a track with an extremely twisted up amen break for about 6 months (I don't get much time to make music, so it's always in 1 or 2 hour stints these days) - I'll upload it once |I've finished, should be around 2005 :-)

wheezer - le tigre - well, i like it. its pretty bratty. the first album is cool too.
but diffrent strokes etc.

MUX
2nd October 2003, 18:11
le tigre is pretty erm 'shouty'
but also pretty good...

Lady E
2nd October 2003, 18:17
mux is that you in your avatar?

yes - they are pretty shouty. bit less shouty as le tigre than earlier geetar based riot grrl stuff was i reckon.

i should have been in a riot grrl band. i can do shouty, i like 1950s clothes and glasses, ive got a fringe, im a feminist...and yet, just found it all a bit strict, a bit of a uniform. i want men in my revolution i guess.

MUX
2nd October 2003, 18:21
i have no idea how to put this politely
but they sound erm.. A BIT FEMININE BUTCH

hey emma.. did cris do that COS ' we dont need guitars' track?
THE Video & track are BRILLIANT

avatara : no it aint me .. i came across it on the net... i came shit quliaty to make into a tiny avatar tho..

Lady E
2nd October 2003, 18:22
mux - no cris didnt do 'we dont play guitars'. he has done a remix of it though which is probably on the 12"

ive seen a bit of the vid and yes it looks really good.

Lady E
2nd October 2003, 18:23
plus i think le tigre probably dont mind being called feminine butch, whatever that is...

MUX
2nd October 2003, 18:29
not at all emma.. not at all... :)
regarding COS - they look like they love what they do - great warpdrobe in video tooo... but who's the chick that plays guitar initially? looks like peaches with make up

Lady E
2nd October 2003, 18:30
i guess it is peaches. peaches guests on the record.

MUX
2nd October 2003, 18:38
oh then.. she should wear make up more often in that case...
did u see her invisable jukebox in 'the wire' emma?

Lady E
2nd October 2003, 19:14
yes i did. twas good i thought.

MUX
2nd October 2003, 19:30

does l7 count as a riot grrl outfit? I always liked them, got a band t-shirt with holes in it to prove it too...

Lady E
3rd October 2003, 11:23
dont know, never heard of 17...

Lady E
3rd October 2003, 11:27
oh - you mean L7!

ha ha ha!

errr - yes, i guess so. i mean they had various members from other bands at different times - one of babes in toyland was in them, courtney love was in them

they were definitely pro-grrrl but i dont know if they played with the boys a bit too much for some of the really hardcore riot grrls. i could be wrong.

bitch one
3rd October 2003, 11:30
which was the girl that was on the word with her muff out?

Lady E
3rd October 2003, 11:58
that was one of the women from L7. 'the great alternative and indie discography' tells me it was Donita.

another time at reading she threw her tampon into the audience.

that's not very hygienic. she should have disposed of it correctly in one of those little bins.

Lady E
3rd October 2003, 12:46
well i think it was a great message about making sure you dont slam in the lamb for too long. toxic shock syndrome was a serious message in the 90s you know.

and im sure the patriarchal bastards that run reading hadnt supplied one of those little bins on the stage.

I just came home from Tescos to hear my flatmate playing Butterslut so I asked him what it was as I didn't know and it's one of the tracks I really wanted to know from Jerome's second set at Dogma. Definately a blinder, I'm downloading the Freak single now to have a listen to it in it's full glory and methinks it'll be added to my must have list.
