at home in ireland we had this anti drink driving ad which used the fleetwood mac song that goes "shall i tell you about my life, do do do di di da" or somfink but my point is, can a great song like that be ruined by ads or is it the fault of the listener when they associate a song with a child being squashed by some tipsy twat in a car? and likewise with the windowlicker/merc thing.
my personal feeling is that people should not let these evil ad dudes ruin good music. i listened to that fleetwood song on my jettoblaster in the park the other day and now i can associate it with that lovely experience but my girlfriend, who is a big fleetwood mac fan, says that she can never listen to it again. it's her loss me thinks.
