phdbob

i havent posted here some time now because whenever i come her all i see is phil here phil there and i´m tiered of all the "you should behave private war" discussion stuff. i think it´s a plain failure not to bann assholes without comment and all like co-existances ...i call it boardhygiene!!!
this board used to be a funny and interesting place but now it has deteriorated to a 3-class blah, blah frustration experience. i saw a lot of nice people go and i will do the same! fuck the democratic and social aspects...i thought you installed the board to have people here that actually discuss music or at least some content besides "you are a nigger because of this or that!" i am not a social worker!!!
sad that there are people like you phil. you must be very miserable to spread all this negativity...i really feel sorry for you! and i feel sorry for the passive behaviour of the nonexitent admins here. have fun with your boring wars! it must be frustrating to be surrounded by assholes and kids with no brain at all!
good bye no future!

Lady E
17th June 2003, 15:40
im sorry you feel that way
there are a lot of discussions on here about music and otherwise, including sonar, luke viberts album, feminism, aesthetics if you bother to look. look at the top threads now.
although i agree phil can be a pain in the arse so can many others - do you want me to ban them all?
if i banned everyone we had a complaint about there'd be no users left from the top posters.
we are instituting rules to crack down on offensive behaviour from all members, because unlike most boards we dont have any rules in place right now.
so its up to you if you want to stick around and see how that works
but to be honest, your thread is very melodramatic - who comes to a message board and expects every thread or forum to be of interest to them? i go to overload and read about 5% of what is posted there...i dont expect EVERYTHING to be my bag.
there's still lots on here that is worth looking at, IMHO
as you hardly post and a board thrives on people posting, you can hardly expect anything to change.
so whatever

yes having looked at the threads on the board just now i have to say i agree with myself even more.
pretty diverse actually
i hate the arguing too so i hope the rules will help that.
but its certainly WAY more people than phil who argue fuss and fight on this board
Lady E
17th June 2003, 15:51
alright jukka not you...

Lady E
17th June 2003, 16:02
dont worry about it jukka i wasnt being mean...
oh lordy
this board...it will be the death of me
but meeting all the boarders out in spain was wicked ...so i wont get too down about it.
if people want to 'leave' forever then fine, in the end what does any of this actually matter?
we started it and we can just as easily stop it if it stops being fun
look we cant stop people being rude to each other if thats what they want to do
and whatever anyone says about the baord having hard times etc its more popular than it ever was in the past...most people on here seem to be really nice so we just have to get over the vicious personal attacks that happen then we will probably find it will be ok...if the new rules dont work then we will have to think again...
blah blah blah

actually phdbob having reread your post im very offended.
'passive behaviour of non-existent admins'
that;s rude man.
anyone who is regularly here will know mine and cristian's behaviour as admins is far from passive, nor are we non-existent.
if as by your own admission you arent here often how dare you feel you have the right to say this to us?
i admin the baord every day apart from weekends.
we were away for 5 days at sonar where we couldnt admin. this happens sometimes because we are human beings with lives.
this board is more popular than we expected and its hard to keep up sometimes but once we have rules we can have other regular admins...but really..im shocked by how rude that was.
thanks a lot. a personal attack on me because phil is sometimes an arsehole here. what exactly is your logic for that?

Apologies if this seems to drag this out- not my intention at all- but I was just wondering about this. Do you mean complaints that come from "external" sources, as it were?? Or complaints from Members?
In either case, what merits you to care about these complaints??
Also, surely offensive behaviour is the worst kind of behaviour, and should be the only thing governed?? Too many rules (eg- don't say this or that about those people) will just create an agreeable and politically correct bored (sic)???
I'm interested.....
Peace, Reese........;)

i mean users complaining to me about other users behaviour to them on the board.
i dont care about them too much unless its really out of order...thats what im saying. it happens, cant ban everyone
and the rules we speak of are indeed going to be about offensive behaviour, fairly obviously...
i doubt there will be too many of them

In my humble opinion I like the arguments we all have on this board. When no-one is disagreeing it is dull.
When there is a bit of banter back and forth it is like watching an ITV drama (only better)
I admit sometimes it goes too far and i know Anne is probably as guilty as anyone for causin trouble.
But a bit of harmless "your mum's a little on the large side" style of dissing is great to watch.
Anne says, for what it's worth, leave it organic.
phil
17th June 2003, 17:17
Anne is it true u once put grunder in a cupboard for hours when he did acid?
Annefrankingmachine
17th June 2003, 17:20
It is true.
We told him the police were coming so he had to hide in the cupboard.
phil
17th June 2003, 17:21
was it true you used to pretend your dad wasnt coming back and you would all get off your face and he would come back?
Annefrankingmachine
17th June 2003, 17:25
Yeah My dad was subsequently nick named "mr notup" as he didn't like piles of children sitting in his son's bedroom smokin pot and necking methadone.
He once caught us with a 5 kingskin joint.
We all had to leave.
I left home when i was 16.
I get on fine with him now though he still a tradisionalist.
My mum tokes on the weed tho but my dad doesn't know.
He just thinks she's "tired"

for what it's worth i find no-future better than most forums. it's easy on the eye and generally the people here have a sense of humour. i also like the range of topics which people talk about. this board is what you make of it. how can you call people assholes or a kids with no brains when the intelligent thing to do would be to post more topics yourself and shape the board to your liking.

i had to make it in m/soft paint. i ain't got no p/shop luxury.
i love m/soft paint.
anyone use irfanview?
image previwer for mac & pc.
It really whips a mules behind.
free d/load from
www.irfanview.com
one of the best bits of wares i seen in a while.
very simple & solid.
prolly of more use for pc users than macs coz image previewers are rare for pc and ten a penny for mac.

I agree with phpbob, used to be I'd come to the forums and read every single thread, now I'm lucky if I'll look at one or two, never mind offering my tupance. I've never risen to Phil's bait, not once but I'm fed up of seeing others go for it and start raging spam wars across the boards filled with complete toddle I'd expect to see fom school kids in the playground.
Phil should be banned because he is continously being a prick and causing problems. You've given him several chances to change his way via nice and lenient warnings, the same sort of warning you've given you other users at several points, except Phil thinks he's above them and has ignored them returning to his own ways.
Now look at Phil's brief entry into Overload. He tried pulling the same useless shit he pulls here, stupid threads and insulting people and the admins there laid the smack down and told him if he steps out of line he'll be gone, the result? No more shit threads or basic insults against people, in fact since his power to spam and aggrivate has been taken away he's not posted there in over a month.
The worst thing is threads like this are exactly what Phil thrives on. He's most likely a deeply insecure individual lacking in confidence and seeking attention and the internet provides the perfect forum for him to do this. It's nameless and faceless aspects appeal to him as he can do all the things he can't in real life without suffering any real consequences and best of all he's not just annoying random people off the internet, he's actually impacting people who he considers to some degree important, the folk who are getting paid to play their tunes or do mix sets in clubs about the world.

mirsha...its a shame you feel that way.
its worse sometimes than others
some rules will change the situation...but i think phdbob exaggerated. its a shame too i liked his posts and i like yours so would be nice if you dropped in once in while...
as i said in my first reply, its hard to read and like every post on a message board like this one...a bit of selectivity and maybe some people might chill out
and much as i like OL and use it as a comparison, its a very different forum and set up, they are proper with their magazine and all. they have rules and they make the banning policy clear...we have never had to think about stuff like that before, so i guess if you want to blame us for anything then blame us for that.
also a bit less posting from some people might help!
wheezer
17th June 2003, 20:16
well to wish for less posting really isn't going to happen, even if the top posters would actually stop there'd soon be new people to take their place.
rules can and probably should be made but of course they are always subject to interpretation of the admins - I think that the main forum should just have more admins instead of just you and cris as well, because like you said you don't have time to read all the stuff that shows up here...

It's only a message board for god's sake - not like you actually know phil personally and he's in the pub insulting you to your face or beating you up. Message boards are pretty anonymous (if you want them to be) and its not much of an insult if someone slags off your post or whatever. No need to take it so personally me thinks. Phil makes me laugh and I like it when he's rude to me (though he hardly ever is - bah!) Maybe I should start pretending to be all upset so I get some attention- waaah!
I don't read every thread on this message board, I used to, and you know why I don't now?
More threads. I don't have the time to read every thread, so I skim the topics, see if I can find one that interests me, then click.
I love this board because of it's diversity. It's great that I can talk politics and other rubbish with people who all I really share in common is the love of a couple of music artists. I find it upsetting that phpbob wants this board to talk music and only music. Perhaps if we do that we should just talk about techno. Or even just about Cristian Vogel and the other RRR artists and no others.
If people want to talk about something, then let them talk about it. I know myself that I've posted about stuff people didn't want to talk about, and the thread sinks past the first page very quickly. I don't see how that's a problem.
Emma, Cris, keep it up. I love this board, and will actually kill myself if it ended. Do you want my blood on your hands, do you?
and jukka, I love you.. not quite like a brother, but maybe like that uncle that no one in the family mentions.
