Tresor 192
ca. no. 56192-6
Release: 07 June 2002

PRODUCT INFO
Oops he did it again, Cristian Vogel brings you fire. Originally titled "This Is Not An Album" this all-new & exclusive double-pack for Tresor is the slamming first spurtings from his new No_Future Barcelona studio. To describe "Dungeon Master", only word prefixes like "Ultra-" and "Mega-" can apply here. This wall-to-wall sonic dancefloor will rule many days (and nights) to come.

Eight (8) tracks of motherboard-melting debauchery fresh for the home, club and your local Techno bunker/dungeon, this time available on vinyl only.

In these beautifully dangerous days of downwards spiralling major labels only the best stick and stay, so stop playing with the imitators and become the Master of your Dungeon now!

..because CD sales have been hit so hard by Audiogalaxy and other mp3 peer to peer that many independents are struggling to survive.... going back to vinyl only seems to be one way to combat the rapid spread of the music , and promote some sales ... we are all being affected - so make sure you BUY SOME MUSIC ....

right, cristian.that's the point.
i don't like all this mp3 sh**.guess i have about 5 (or so) mp3's on my pc.
even i can't understand how somebody can be pleased to have something interesting only as mp3, a mp3 can never replace owning the original (equal if on cd or vinyl).
and be sure i buy music...
the point is just that i usually only buy cd's, so it is a pitty for me it won't be released on cd.
the good thing is that this is the way how the label/producer get(s) the money.

Ive been downloading lots of peoples' sets as mp3s..this however doesnt seem to be stopping the haemorrageing of my money towards vinyl pushers (record shops)!, or stop me going out to clubs..I'll buy that justin berkovi live pa CD asap...I tend to erase mp3 sets over time anyway...short preview mp3s are ok I think to help sales eg I ordered the Digital Princess thing after hearing the mp3...the cost of vinyl in britain seems to increasing, or am I imagining this?

Personally, the availability of MP3's on the web etc have only added a positive effect on me purchasing music as it allows someone like me who lives somewhere that you have to actively seek out music on your own (Hong Kong ain't exactly overloaded with music shops, decent clubs, radio etc), to download, listen, make a decision on whether "to buy or not to buy" - and generally it means buy!! But, saying that, can a label like Tresor really be suffereing from it so much so that they can only release on vinyl? I don't want to get into the arguement about whether vinyl or cd sounds better, but surely a double EP can have a limited CD release as there must be the demand.

Anyone got any Tresor connections that wants to comment?

yeah... i would be glad to get the tresor192 soon... on vinyl :-)
it's good to put it on vinyl than both on cd and vinyl... not everybody copies vinyl to the pc... i'll do it, but only because i want to hear some of the vinyl-tracks in my car... and i can't put a technics-player in my car (but would be funny or?)
so, sometimes when i get new vinyls i'll record and cut them on my pc, put it on 256kbps-mp3 and burn it on cd... for myself, sometimes for a friend who studies and don't have money for vinyls... i think it's ok when i copy it to my best friend... but i never would sell copied music to any other... but that's another theme...
so, i'll wait for the double-ep... *g...
before i forget it, aaah, does anybody know when the new tobi-schmidt-album @ tresor get's released???

cheerzzz

yes, i do copy the tracks i like most to the pc too. like you said you can't take your turntables with you to every place

a good article about selling and distributing music in the future in the actual debug(nr59)(german mag). its an article from kevin kelley(wiredmagazin). some interesting thoughts, not bad but not new to me at all.

did you thought the bad situation hits us less than others??? it's surely not even easy to keep a label like tresor running since nearby 11 years now. thank carola, max and marc...

Well thats a crying shame man. If Tresor can't hold up the torch, who can?

personally I think it´s best to have the stuff on vinyl cause you often want to use the tracks in a dj-set. I was close to buy subhead "neon rocka" on cd - I thought it was a kind of "interesting listening" but hell no - it rocks the dancefloors, so bought it on vinyl instead!! :o))

yeeehh.. I´ll keep my eyes open for Cristians new 2x12" on tresor, too!!!

Aye to that!
Got a copy last week - jeez. One industrial record, really bubbles along & nice to hear some really decent hard-ness.
A diverse year for Cristian, and its only July.
