i was at my mates wedding last month, i saw loads of people from up north who i hadnt seen for ages it was wicked, the other hlaf got to wear a nice frock and i put a shirt on.
some of my mates had formed a wedding band, thay had only one rehersal, the highlight was a guns and roses medley followed by some elvis.

Lady E
6th June 2003, 12:57
if its your mates wedding its bloody brilliant

everyone;s dressed up looking fine, the service is a bit emotional , free nice lunch, one of your mates inevitably is best man and has to make a dick of themselves. drinking from 11 am then the reception disco is always a right laugh with some classics being played.

im going to two this year and three next year...im looking forward to them all

if its a family wedding you've been forced to attend where its all really uptight and formal there is nothing less interesting.

isnt paul fowler djing at your mates wedding grunder? he was telling me about his new suit the other day.

walkerbelm
6th June 2003, 12:59
I went to may brothers wedding a couple of years ago and shared a pill with my girlfriend at the reception.......BAD IDEA!!!

We ended up gurning at the table with the whole family and getting really luvd up during awld lang sine or what ever its called hugging the father of the bride. Oh my god they must have known.....It mkes me cringe

grunder
6th June 2003, 13:01
yeah paul is playing but i aint even going to that one ......

so no real fun for me ...

phil
6th June 2003, 13:03

what if you secretly want to marry the bride/groom and your soul feels like it's bleeding firey maggots with big teeth?

erm, anyway, yes it's dead cool seeing all your friends decked up in snazzy suits and stuff. i quite like that bit.

Lady E
6th June 2003, 13:50

i couldnt face my own wedding. the stress! parents embarassing you. all eyes on you all day...all the preparations, the expense. trying to fit all your mates onto the invite list despite having to invite family you dont even know...AAARRRGGHHH!

penciLneck
6th June 2003, 15:19
god yeah, just imagine. thankfully in my case family would consist of my mum and my aunt, coz thats all there is. but I don't think I could handle the full blown event - it would have to be las vegas stylie or jumping out of a plane for me, definately with a free party after.

TroyMoyOnions

FredDibnah
6th June 2003, 16:31
Once went to a wedding and popped a few - loads of us did - the brides mother was well impressed - still (10yrs later) says it was the best wedding to see all the young ones so happy celebrating and dancing together - had to drink loads of MD 20 20 to calm down and avoid the gurns...... makes me shivver to think of it now though -

i was a wedding dj last year, it was great fun. scary tho. i burned lots of premixed cds. the most scary thing is remembering that i was upstairs snorting with the best man for half an hour while the cd was playing. just tell em the dj's a midget and hope it doesn't skip.

also our smoke machine set of the fire alarm and the entire hilton hotel had to be evacuated. our guests thought it was really funny tho so it was ok.

I went to my friend mark & zoe's wedding in a golf club in cornwall. It was fucking wicked. They had the family shit in the day with food kids etc. Then they had a marquee outside with a sound system and threw a party in the evening. You can imagine the stolen golf buggies, gurners, rolling in the sand traps etc. Great fun!

FredDibnah
6th June 2003, 16:43

Cheers mate !

Still can't believe it like.

Hopefully looking at next September and it'll be abroad, cos 1. its cheaper and 2. it will sort of avoid certain family 'issues'.

We're hoping it'll be Ibiza. ie the nice bit on t'other side of the island (not San An !!).

Fuck knows how much its gonna cost, but should be a larf ....

I've got 4 weddings this year let us pray that i don't have to go to the funeral.
The service for one of the weddings i have to go to is in St Paul's cathedral. Dr Tattersall (obe) from the british virgin islands. Sounds a lie. Isn't. Look him up on google. He's there. He's the greatest over acheiver i've ever met. I love him. And his beautiful, south london fiance, Nicolette, who appears on the front cover of our album.

According to an unmarried friend of mine, lots of weddings normally signals a certain time of life .... late 20's / early 30's

This certainly seems true in my case. I got married @ 29 and about the same time several other friends of mine and the wife’s got married to.

I have my own theory based on the domino effect ... i.e one couple in group of friends gets married and then other couples in group follow suit .... Either through some sort of strange guilt trip or just cause it seems like a good idea.

Neither of these may be true in your case ....
