Just in case the Russians decide to change their mind about the Cold War - or maybe just to remind them that they lost...
As well as significant cost saving involved in hiring cheaper eastern bloc civilian ancillaries...
NICE :-)

Almost 100 arrested in Berlin street clashes
Almost 100 people, mostly youths from the punk and left-wing scenes, were arrested during overnight street disturbances and clashes with police that have become an annual ritual to greet May Day in Berlin. Almost 30 police officers were injured, but only one seriously, through Thursday morning, police said, as they braced for more violence following an afternoon march by the far-right New Democratic Party. Despite a heavy police presence, NPD gatherings often lead to stone-throwing and brawls with left-wing counter demonstrators. Police said most of the violence occurred in the streets around Mauerpark in the Prenzlauer Berg district, where angry crowds began gathering around midnight following a Wednesday evening concert in the park. A number of windows were broken and several cars were demolished, police said. mig
