Just curious cause there really hasnt been anything that has tickled my fancy her in Detroit and wondering if I am missing out on anything good.
The only things I have found recently are;
Hearoom-Regular Beating Noise??-Contaminated
Andrei Morant-Seismic
plus alot of dnb
Also paitently waiting for my Boogizms #3
zombie ritual
4th April 2002, 16:27

surreal & parameter II-pitch black-beeswax
dom & keaton/current affairs-twisted city-moving shadow
ed rush & optical-kerkrwaler-virus
total science-squash (v/a forget title)
some are not that new probably. detroit is not the hotbed for dnb, but someplaces get good releases. I need to just start ordering online.

as for techno, i would recommend the continiuos mode ep on chain reaction, the whole places lp by joey beltram or maybe ninjah by mr. vogel. there are lots of cool tracks that fill the floor...
as for drum'n'base, i liked the klute-stuff pretty much. also source direct have allways been good for a little break free.
but i haven't really heard a lot records of that style in the last time so i can't really judge on newer ones.
another real dancefloor-smasher is on boards of canada's hi scores ep. it's called nlogax (the old-shoolish one). listen to this one on a real good, loud p.a. and your mind will play tricks on you, maybe you grow a third leg or something. gave me heavy goose-bumps (hope thats the word) the few times i was given that opportunity.
mini
5th April 2002, 12:57
yes, amble, boards of canada is really good, most of us got the album, but i even think that there are not enough people buying this good shit!
this is slightly outta topicbut...
i think that the 'SHIT' shiould be much easier to buy... cause when it comes to Boards of Canada everything is limited, and not distrubited ( except thier new album, which is marvellous . i got a limited edition story book from london).
hi scores is still quite avaliable, if not the most from all the Skam discography.... but has anyone heard of the MASK releaseses? limited to 100-200-300-400-500 every realease
( the number is the amount of copies. the EPs are a master piece and their hardest thing to find when it comes to extreme electrinica realese in my eyes.. they should be avaliable to all..
mini
5th April 2002, 13:38
yes, i can agree with you, but you should also think of all those people who wont buy such music cause they dont understand this.
but it is true that the number of releases is too small.
havin a good record dealer;)
well.. im good erm.. downloader.. and a very better CDR burner...
cause if u want something to be done well... do it yrslf it is so said..
mini
5th April 2002, 13:53
i can download, of course. but whats that sound from vinyl against cd? and think of those poor artists: if you buy it legal you make them rich;)yeah, thats it, i make people rich*lol*
for the MASK releases...none of the releases were really for sale in the stores. most of the stores who had the luck to get some copies they only got a copy for each worker (they even kinda got told NOT to sell it). i was lucky to have mask400 and 500 but 500 someone stole from my house which isn't a nice thing to do, i think :(
even if you're up to pay a lot for it... you simply can't find it. so if anyone is out there who's willing to earn a lot of money ;) jus'le'me know
dick head
5th April 2002, 13:59
floor fillers...
hmm the first aeox ep on null is shockingly good future-techno, futuristic and rockin like i haven't heard for a long time. i don't own it though, i missed it :(
house, if you're interested - the second greens keepers remix of iz + diz mouth on classic has a huge walking bassline that makes me smile big :))))
mini
5th April 2002, 14:04
yes its really hard to get releases, but as i said, we have a really good record dealer. he has all those rare record as promos at home,
and if you would really like to have a special record, he looks as long as he get it! i often hve been in record stores in berlin, and if they havent a record, they send you to another.
CoS - would u ever put a price on yr mask 400?
Magnumforce
5th April 2002, 15:05
@ Cora, I stole the Mask records ;)
how much do you wanna pay to get them back......
nothinghere
5th April 2002, 15:16
Where online can I get the Digital Princezz and Ninjah? No one in Detroit has them:[
And the new Airfrog on Svek is rather good, and the new C4C on Sub Base.
amble
5th April 2002, 15:36
i've got that mask500, hard to get i can tell you (hardwax had like a list of long term customers that got one under the shopping desk - lucky me!). i know a guy that has almost all (Cora you know him too - he lives in Niedertrebra near Apolda - got it??).
mini: i take it you live somewhere in the area of jena/weimar/erfurt. if you do there is a really really good record shop in weimar: it's called "Musikhaus Steinhaus", located at Graben 45. they have a little of everything, high class selection. you might check this.
to get back to the topic, i just saw that nothinghere wanted some recent releases that burn mentioned - i liked the last Tobias Schmidt ep on Tresor very much; the remixes by AFX on men rec do rock too. and mice parade lp "mokoondi" on fat cat (first two tracks!!).
puh.., what else??
mini
5th April 2002, 15:48
hey amble, i am originally from saalfeld, we have a very good recordstore called cosmic tree here. thank you for writing me this.
info for you (and of course all the others who are living in this area):
20.4. there are quattrophoniquekikz at club muna in bad klosterlausnitz.
are you going to go to this party, too?

there are a couple of real killer tracks. one i actually really can recommend is the
track "agression" from vanguard's double ep. "alles oder nichts" on frisbee rec.
anytime my friends and i play it, you really get the crowd shakin' their ass.
we got this record actually by accident, nobody of us really checks out what comes out on this label, neither stuff commin' from this guys. it's may be the reason why it makes it that good, none of our public knows them...
all other tracks on this e.p. aren't actually really good, tell you the truth i think they even suck, but with this track they really got the bomb, so it's still worth it to spend those bucks for one track on a double e.p.
mini
5th April 2002, 18:40
ive got "alles oder nichts" too, ist out since a half year or one.
Will O The Wisp

6th April 2002, 16:00
Mine:
-Towa Tei "Technova" (George Llanes Jr Journey Mix) - i cannot say enough good things about this track. it's from 1995 and not a single cut has come even close since then. Mad crazy stomping house and breakbeats, just the right kind of cheesy, and the "oh my god what the HELL are we listening to?" factor is very high.
-Si Begg "Test Case" from Testosterone Testicles
-Any cut from Niel Landstrumm's "Pro Audio". Mmmmmm...
-The Vogel track that I play constantly is "Bawdy"..
-Damn near anything from any Noodles Discotheque, tho Correctional Facilities is the current favorite.

to all: my record dealer "cosmictree" is a very good one,
every one who lives in the area of thuringia should try to visit him.
as an example he got 6 copies of the last bodgan raczynski lp
and i think there were only 100 copies worldwide.
to amble: you should visit the cosmictree too, the steinhaus at weimar is a good recordstore too we bought our records there for many years. when will we meet?
to mini: what have you done all the last days?
