So how many people here are left handed, right handed, or ambidextrous??
Sheridan

oh yeah, I write with my left. but I can do practically everything else with both so I am ambidextrous.

@ marcel - southpaw is leading with your righthand in boxing
I'm right handed cant do anything which requires precision with my left

if ambidextrous means that one uses both hands than that's me. i'm born right handed but i broke my right arm once as a kid and since then i can do lot's of things with both hands (except writing maybe).
and yeah left handed people are often creative cos the nerves for the left side of the body (muscle movement and everything) run together in the right half of the brain where the creative centre is also situated.

I'm ambidextrous - used to write with either hand at primary school, but at the time there was a movement amongst certain social and eductional professionals to make everyone right handed - so if I started writing with my left hand - I'd get a wack on the nuckles with a ruler...
A social worker even visited my Mum, say "I'm afraid there's a problem with your son" you can imagine my mum was quite worried - then she says "he ambidextrous" my mum looks even worried, then after a few minutes explanation as to what ambidextrous meant my Mum was like "so what's the problem with that" but they persisted and so my writing skill with my left is a bit slow. Have often though of taping up my right hand for a month so I have to use my left - I reckon that's all it take to bring it back up to speed.
Some guy at my old work, got his 'good' left hand blown off by a cannon in a Medieval re-enactment battle.. He was a sculptor, and he was back up, drawing and painting in one month and scultping in two with his other hand... he did cheat though, he has an identical twin who uses his righthand - so I reckon the psychic twin connection might have come into play too...

that's exactly what they did to my sister (who is left handed) back in GDR. i thought they only did it in communist countrys, for what ever reason, didn't know that was done in the free world as well. i wonder what they tried to achieve with that?

people generally thought that using your left hand was a sign of evil. my grandmother was left handed but was scolded for it and was made to use her right.

I'm right-handed - I've always found left handed people pretty interesting - quite far ftom being sinsiter :o)
One of my mates is left handed - it's always interesting to watch him actually twist the paper to write on it if he's using an inky pen - otherwise, his hand just glides along whatever he's written and smudges it!!!

Awww... I wasn't being mean or anything - I promise I never used to bully him about being left handed :o)
Guess I just find it interesting because it seems so unsual whenever I try it - in the same way I guess for him he finds it bizzare to use his right hand....
Love to the left - love to the right

I think maybe in 70s UK and socialist countries it might a conformist thing - after all if you have lefthand people you have to make allsorts of lefthanded devices and gadgets...
Just hazarding a guess... at this one...

at home i use a track ball mouse on my pc...i can only use it with my left hand. at work i use a conventional mouse with mousemat...i can only use that with my right hand.

same thing for me grobs...i used to be both handed and was forced to be right although in tests (dunno why i had to have these done) my left hand is stronger than my right.
anyhow, in school to fight off boredom in my classes, i used to take all my notes using my left hand. it helped. so since you are bored at work - why dont u try tapin up that hand :)
