being over here.. i had no idea what this was when the man at the dvd shop tried to make me rent the whole series at once.... im now half way thru the episodes and have to say that this series is fooking amazing and very touching and seems so large scale for a ten episode series..... anybody else watching it?

wasn't that the one that tom hanks had a part in. directing or producing it or something?
looked kinda like saving private ryan part 2. but interesting none the less. maybe I should check it out.

jup right.. have seen it aswell. Damn good!!! The worlds most expensive serie ever! Close to saving privat ryan - the same style. Soo... Heard Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks should have been over it - but not sure.
Especially the "winter"-sessions are pretty scary!??

Was on the telly here a while back, thought it was pretty good. HBO do a good job for US TV. Nice cinematography. Don't have a TV at the moment so can't watch anything

It's was on over here in the UK on the BBC a while back - Damian Lewis (who you can see in "Dreamcatcher" with Morgan Freeman) was one of the lead characters - he provided the narrative throughout the series.

Currently being repeated by the trusty cable station UK Gold in the UK if anyone is interested....
