Ether Festival - London Sinfonietta

The London Sinfonietta conducted by Stefan Asbury joined forces with Warp Records in the opening concert from the second Ether Festival, given in March on London's South Bank. The music of Nancarrow, Cage, Ligeti and Stockhausen was heard alongside special arrangements by Margan Hayes and David Horne of tracks by Squarepusher, Boards of Canada and Aphex Twin. Also, Warp artist Mira Calix performed a new version of her piece Nunu, made from recordings of insect noises. Also tonight, 'Electro-Instruments', the third instalment from the Cut and Splice Festival, introduced by Robert Worby.
