yeah, it's either 128 or 135, but 110 and 98 can be sooo smoooth, then there's 160 which is ear-bleedingly awesome in the right circumstances

How do you quantify optimum in regards to the amount of beats there are in a minute?

The speed you most like bustin' moves on the dancefloor at?

96bpm & 134 bpm are my favourite speeds in that respect.

According to Frankie Bones it is 133.
He says it will keep the dancefloor moving all night long.

120. The old Chicago house and Nude Photo - Transmat tempo.

Really, all records should be around that tempo and if you do track which style fits "Up Temp" of course it should be faster. It's Up Tempo, Down Tempo, and the Medium dance tempo. Europeans started the trend of applying distortion to the kick and making the tempo faster. The newer DJAX records that do that don't sound bad. But sometime when you are listening to that your like why couldn't they do one track that is the medium tempo so I can mix it with older tracks like TRAX. Jeff Mills used to speed up his music because it fit his DJ style, the records themselves were not fast.

It's still the one for me.

thembuzz
16th August 2009, 22:05
yes, best to make all tracks at roughly the same tempo, i find. blinkered conformity is sadly under-rated
