I didn't really enjoy Silver Apples when I fist heard them. I kind of appreciated their obvious influence and innovation, but the music didn't really hit me until about a year ago. It was liked being smacked in to face with 1 million tons of awesomeness. Tracks I had heard at parties plenty of times suddenly sounded different, more emotionally engaging and weighty. I don’t know why I had this block with them before.

Anyway, the remaining member is doing a Silver Apples gig in Dublin soon. Needless to say, I'm really looking forward to it :)

Were you on psychedelics when you were, 'smacked in to face with 1 million tons of awesomeness'?

@ Luke

Drunk and stoned I'd say, that's my usual MO. TBH I don't remember what I was on, just the pulsating noise, familiar yet some how much much better.

I'm pretty sure volume had part to play in it, also I remember I was listening to the new Portishead album earlier that day and for some reason that was affecting my state of mind.

Really? I heard that they were great when they played a festival here last year.
