i dont think the dsi can really do that:
http://arstechnica.com/gaming/reviews/2009/04/where-were-going-we-wont-need-stores-ars-reviews-the-dsi.ars

let him get on with it. he never said he wouldnt do ads...and it is called making a living, which isnt that easy to do in music especially these days.
everyone in music who is vaguely popular / successful - even people you assume to be somehow pure, or people you respect and admire - have their hands dirty in some way or other because we live and work in a capitalist system and music is capitalism red in tooth and claw.
i couldnt be bothered to watch it all the way through but it is a pretty rubbish ad for a product i have minus interest in. i havent heard any of his music for a few years because it isnt my thing but i will always respect his great talent and love lots of work he's done. more importantly he's my friend. i hope he got a decent amount of cash for it and that is enabling him to carry on being creative. he needs to be careful to keep a balance between things like this and worthier pursuits but im sure he knows what he's doing.

None, but then I've also never done a live set that's made peoples brains melt with excitement. I've never written a tune that makes boys and girls get sexually excited the way 'freely freekin' does. I've never done an album that's too weird for Warp. I don't have 2% of the skill required to be involved in making an album like 'Raw Digits'.

Ar :) I'm surprised how strongly everyone feels. Found that advert pretty embarassing to watch. I would have turned it off after 5 seconds if it hadn't had Jamie Lidell in it... sat through to the end just getting more embarassed.
But mainly it just reminded me of how diasppointed I was when he started releasing stuff I didn't like. I'll get over it again somehow.

I reckon that if I was offered a load of money to use one of my tracks in an advert for something that wasn't as bad as guns or child prostitution, I'd probably take it....... that said I'd be a complete cunt, I'd have to publicly admit that I was a cunt for doing it and I'd expect all of my friends to call me a cunt whenever that sordid episode came up in conversation. Lastly, my artistic credibility from that moment on would always be stained by me being a cunt - and I'd know it. If Jamie is cool with all of the above, I say go for it and put some aside for your pension and enjoy it all.

Michael Jackson.
When he came to Japan to tour,
his contact was so thick with details.
Among one of them was,
"Make the hotel room filled with toys ".
This thread is showing our unaware hunger for the king's come-back,
not as in Michael-wise,
but our sorrow that we would have to see our future kings tied down to money.
Meanwhile, we are capable of ripping their music/work,
while we try to save our incoming cash
so that our children could eat the cotton candy which costs 12 dollars at the new baseball stadium.

I'd love to hear about some of the corporate website jobs that people commenting here have been involved in, maybe we can pull the design and coding to pieces in the same way this ad has been pulled to pieces.. Bottom line: he started a pretty successfull singing career (relatively speaking) against a backdrop of techno nerds demanding that he make that don't take more remix over and over.. and I think after going through 5 years of poverty in berlin before hitting the semi-big-time with mutiply, he's more than entitled to whore himself about for cash advertising Nintendo DS and the like.. whatever, I just saw him a few days back on sky arts, admittedly doing old songs like the City and a little bit more, but the old magic was still there, blew both Beck and Jarvis Cocker (who were on the same show) out of the water... so yeah, whatever...

This.
When I was younger and if one of my favorite artists would go corporate or whatever it would really bother me. Now I just look at it as people change and sometimes one album or whatever is all you get out of them personally. It happens. As for Jamie, I was never the biggest fan so I really don't care. Big up to him if he is happy. That is the most important thing I feel.

Prince Harry faces fresh questions over his judgment after he attended an illegal rave party in a rundown office block.
Senior Royal sources have confirmed that the Prince was at the dilapidated venue in East London.
The new-style parties, attended by affluent youngsters, are known as ‘raavs’.
The groups are increasingly abandoning traditional venues in upmarket areas such as Chelsea and Kensington for all-night events in east London.
