Just had a second friend die this week.. the second in 6 weeks.. the first one from alcoholism at 32 - the second, last friday, from Weill's Disease contracted from engineering work in a sewer. 40 yrs old.. 18 month year old kid.. two years into married life.
I'd not seen either for a pretty long period - so i'm not feeling any immediate grief thing.. just the weirdness/sadness of live's being lost so young and having peers disappear.
Clyde was a don with a spraycan - a true UK style pioneer as well, not just a copy and paste writer - taking letterstyle off in proper weird places in the true spirit of graf/hip hop. Here's a sample of those skills in his memory...

the exact same thing happened to me this week. my best mate from school came off his motorbike in an accident and was killed. We pretty much stopped hanging out after i went off to uni but whenever i bumped into him about we always had time for each other.
thats why im finding it weird how to feel about it, cos its the guys who still knew him through our twenties that i really feel bad for. speaking to them was a hard one as im more sad for them and his family rather than cut up about it myself. The funeral is on wednesday but its too far to go and im busy at work, but my parents are going for me and will hand the family a card which im going to start writing now.

yeah that is a very strange situation when it happens.
This is a line from a film called 'Sans Soleil', it's sad and beautiful I think, I dunno if it's apt, but here it is anyway, I think of it a lot.
“Who said that time heals all wounds? It would be better to say that time heals everything except wounds. With time, the hurt of separation loses its real limits. With time, the desired body will soon disappear, and if the desiring body has already ceased to exist for the other, then what remains is a wound... disembodied.”

Sorry. But then I think that weird thing that Kams and Maw are talking about is also fascinating and something to learn from as well as deeply sad. Understanding more about how we live in our memories can help in the long run I think.
