i don't think michael connor was the guy who died in terminator 1
i think he was that guy's son, the little boy in terminator 2
for ages i thought that they were the same person, until i realised that this would make him his own father, which would obviously cause some rather nasty inbreeding.
which creates a strange timetravel loop.
normal guy goes back in time and has sex with his mum, thus becoming his own father.
OK, maybe he's not that normal. but he looks it.
then he dies.
then he is born, but he's a bit deformed because he is his own father and his genes are a bit mashed up.
he goes back in time, has sex with his mum etc
then he dies.
then he is born, but he is even more deformed this time.
and so on, each time he goes through the loop his deformities are amplified until he has three heads and seven arms. At which point Sarah Connor would probably refuse to sleep with him, and the earth is enslaved by the robots.

he is def. not his father, his father was a collegue of his in the future, who was sent back to make sure he was born as he was the one who caused the uprising against the machines (connor).
but it is weird that his father (the one who was sent back in the first one) was born after him in the future.

Dunno, I think that was just a cover story for some dodgy timehopping incest. And if it continues iteritively - like $eye outlines here, the mutant offspring end up taking over the world. Perhaps in fact that was the plan in the first place, oops may be giving the filmmakers too much credit. hasta'lavista.

well in Futurama, there is Fry his own grandfather. because he went back in time and killed the guy that he always thought was his grandfather (by accident). then his grandmother was sad and they boinged.

A paradox is not seen in The Terminator, but pre-ordained time travel is -- that is, the known future could not exist without alterations of the past. An assassin robot is sent back in time to kill the mother of a future rebel leader, and a rebel soldier (Reese) is sent back to prevent this from happening. Reese meets up with the woman, and causes her a great deal of confusion by using the past tense when speaking of events from her life that have not yet happened. We see flash-forwards rather than flashbacks, as Reese is remembering the future. He impregnates the woman, becoming the father of the future leader. Although this was not planned by the rebels, the future could not have happened the way it did without this intervention in the past.
