can anyone tell me how to get logic to display more than the first 2 bus returns in the track mixer window?

i can only refer to version 4.8.1
in the track mixer window go to new/audioobject
the audioobject is turned off. you can choose at the left parameterview panel "cha" what that audioobject should be.

i have 4.8.1 gold. the (adaptive) track mixer window doesn't have a 'new' menu...i think...? i think it has view, track and option menus...the view menu allows you to hide/unhide busses 1 and 2 but no more...maybe you can bring busses into the arrange window as tracks? that would maybe make them appear...i'll try it when i get home

ahhh...its the one with the midi tracks in too...the one that adapts automatically to the tracks used in the arrange window. i think this stuff is probably the same with gold/platinum apart from u get 16 bus instead of 8.
cheers anyway

you can simply duplicate any object...just click the "alt" key (the one you use to duplicate tracks or notes...and move the thing to a free space...then you can rename it and change the properties...i mean i do it this way???

This is not possible in Logic.... I tried it too in every which way, including dragging the Return 3 in the Audio Environment (where they are all visible...) into the track mixer.... didn't work. So when you use more than two of those, you must use the environment mixer, no way around it... I through this was rather a poor show of Logic.
I believe this is something they introduced in LAP 5.0, but I don't know for sure as I'm still waiting to get my copy...
BTW I exchanged my Cubase dongle for a Logic licence (they used to do that at a pretty decent rate so the price for Platinum was my Cubase5 Score and 500 Euro which is about the same as for a "normal" purchase of Logic Audio!!!!), but as of April 1, they don't do that anymore..... I was lucky enough to be 'in time'

do you mean bus returns or bus sends?
copying objects and then defining them in the object parameters window will work to create any object.... as mntioned above

He probably means the channel strips in the adaptive mixer where you insert the fx that can be addressed by the buses in the audio channel. Of those, there are only two in the Windows>Mixer window, where you can't insert objects....
