I had been busy getting my new apartment to be furnished.
And
Getting a new job in NYC.
Got it.
Don't want to be a nose-poker(?) for your living,
But thought it would be interesting to get to know more about the other members in the forum what they'd been doing.
If I do not get any replies,
I will start a thread about parsley and walk away.

Fender Telecaster 50's reissue, its a Mexican (couldn't afford a new USA one) but has had a custom double wound pick-up fitted which has it sounding very nice, if a bit trebly. It plays really well, especially after years of playing bad cheap electrics. Are you an acoustic player only?

Yeah... I've only ever touched an electric about twice, and never since I could actually play an acoustic (only been doing that for a couple of years). I can't use a pick at all :)

I have been working my same job as Graphics Manager at a small printing company. Things are going well for us considering the economic downturn. Lucky for us people still buy fast food in a recession. Apart from that I am looking for a new apartment and should hopefully be moving in February which I am really excited about. I am looking at getting a new laptop and also acquiring Traktor Scratch. And speaking of guitars one of my goals this year is to get an electric guitar and learn to how to play. I am staying away from the bar for the foreseeable future which is nice since I am tired of being poor and hungover and hanging out with divs. I am actually really looking forward to 2009 and some of the plans I have for it.

Nicely. You doing actual classical flat neck style thingy? Or just "fingerstyle" or wotever the fuck they call it?
I've been doing something like that the last couple of years, having lessons n shit. Mainly that fingerpicking stuff.. Renbourn style (tho not quite up to his standard yet:)). classical, I did get into it through a bit of fingerpicking and slide but then I put down the guitar for years. Took it up again more seriously about 18 months ago. I'm still shite tbh, but getting better and at least now I'm getting to pay better music and start new pieces fairly frequently.
Hopefully, this might be the next piece I learn over christmas:

oh it's worth doing, I'm not going to give up this time, even if it kills me :)
there's loads of great music for the guitar and some of it is very modern which I like.
I like too. The best show I saw this year was the Dublin Guitar Quartet playing Glass. I get rushes just thinking about that gig.

I'm also going to take up tennis, run a marathon and learn to speak several extinct Sami languages.
I just updated our discography page... in typical style you wait years and then 3 come at once.. http://www.handontheplow.com/discography/
Cris is halfway through mastering HOTP010 as we speak... you can hear the Beckett & Taylor imagineIAM remix here (http://www.myspace.com/handontheplow).
Sounds wicked deadly. What the hell are yis takin about, or is it just jibberish?

Yeah i'm thinking about trying Rosetta
Stone but think it may just be stupidly expensive, so prob will have to find a local class. It going to be hard work, but I've always been wanting to do this and just keep putting if off.
you can get rosseta stone quite easily, just not for your laptop. windows and new macs fine. I use it a lot, but youd have to do grammar separately tho as its crap for that.
im doing free italian lessons at work enjoying it loads.

that sounds great. I'd like to hear that. Leo Brouwer has lots of great music composed for guitar that I've been listening to a lot recently.
not the best recordings, but still the feelings there:

ah very nice, I'm going to ask my teacher if I can learn "The Rain Study," next.
I like how all the different versions of "Cuban Landscapes With Rhumba," I've heard sound so different.
The Quartz one is a bit like Gamelan, the japanese one is like a Koto and the Dublin one sounds like minimal new york Folk music.

Recorded in my basement after finishing the user interface. There should have been even more
stuff but unfortunately my cam run out of tape. Hopefully the video gives some idea of how
loud it actually came out to be...
I can testify to the loudness. I can still hear it now :illin:
