build on mozilla therefore a memorymonster. but quite promising with the the stuff developers can do with the addons.
it's going to be the shit. but it's not there yet. not by a long shot. on windows it's all about mediamonkey today

you lost me at 'on windows'... I do like my itunes on OS X, but it seems to do a great job keeping things synched on that front.

been using as my main media player on linux for a few months. it's not perfect and is a memory hog, but worth it for the add-ons, especially mediaflow.
i wish foobar was available for linux, but songbird will do for now, at least until amarok 2.0 drops.

I did like foobar back when I was on Win32, but mostly for its nofrills interface. I really need good media management capabilities with the amount of mp3s I have, and I am happy to clean up the metadata before importing in order to make this a workable system. So iTunes has generally been good to me. Otoh, they are adding more and more proprietary crap into it that I just do not want. And songbird has some import folder function on its roadmap, which I am actually quite keen on.

It's fine, started using it again recently when I got a new wireless NAS. I have all my music on there and Songbird does a great job of streaming it and organising it. Some of the new features in 1.0 are nice, last.fm integration + artwork, mashtape etc. Less clunky and buggy than itunes, and doesn't seem to cane memory in my case.

And I thought this was a thread about the Buffalo Springfield song of the same name! What a coincadink! I feel a fool.
