So this might be a bit on the nerdy side... but...

I just saw a special on Al Green "Let's stay together" - who changed his life and found Christ after a mishape with a pre-jilted lover... He was a player-type... and turned to the Lord sound, after an injury (inside and outside)-

This song was played in Pulp Fiction right after Vincent and Jules are about to have the near-death experience- (prior to Jules' awakening- and decision to follow the path of Christ - re: Shepherd etc...)

Clever of Tarantino- or coincidence?... noticeable only by people like me (geeky)... I figure it could be purposeful- (not to say it isn't an appropriate sounding track none-the-less)... but cool if people know his history...

This is sort of ridiculous... but it made for some interesting opinions tonight at a local funk/soul night.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was on purpose. Tarantino knows his stuff.

Definetely.

So to jump to one of the oldest of discussions about Pulp Fiction: what's in the briefcase? ^_^

Al Green is produced by Al Green - he has also produced loads of other bands - its rumoured he does fully hands on producing , with writing , arranging , mixing and engineering all within the description of 'produced by'

re:Pulp Fiction
Remember the first time you were introduce to Marsellus Wallace. The first shot of him was of the back of his head, complete with band-aid. Then, remember the combination of the lock on the briefcase was 666.

Then, remember that whenever anyone opened the briefcase, it glowed, and they were in amazement at how beautiful it was; they were speechless. http://www.geocities.com/~mikemckiernan/pulpbc2.gif

Now, bring in some Bible knowledge, and remember that when the devil takes your soul, he takes it from the back of your head. Yep, you guessed it. And what is the most beautiful thing about a person: his soul. Marsellis Wallace had sold his soul to the devil, and was trying to buy it back. The three kids in the beginning of the movie were the devil's helpers. And remember that when the kid at the end came out of the bathroom with a "hand cannon," Jules and Vincent were not harmed by the bullets. "God came down and stopped the bullets," because they were saving a soul. It was divine intervention.

i liked pulpfiction so much but it kinda grows on you.
the gimp scene always makes me giggle

Resevior Dogs is so much better. and it's filmed in one damn empty warehouse with some cut clips & a diner.... totally charector based

my favorite of certain 'cult' status is Apocalypse Now.
