tuesday night came and went and those guys put on a fuckin' good show. of course the turnout was rather lackluster. not many technoheads come out on a weeknight i suppose but those that did attend were loving it. Gregory was melodic and so lost into his set i thought we was gonna pass out. Stewart just ripped it and tactfully took it from hard, relentless polyrhythmic headfucks to sparse, dub influenced bass grooves.
thankfully they weren't ego maniacs so the low attendance didn't stop them from putting their hearts into it.

sounds like a top night. I would love to see them but the closest they are coming to me is brooklyn, and I can't make it up to new york anytime soon. :(

Hey! Does anyone have contact info for Stewart, other than the booking agent info? JP, a good friend and promoter here in Minn. wants to book him while he's touring, and we cannot find anybody who knows how to get ahold of him. If you do, PM me asap! :)

Cheers!

i *heard* he got a girlfriend, got a job in real estate and quit djing.. i saw somewhere that he's playing in chicago soon with tim xavier so maybe he's making a comeback.. my friends who paid more attention that night said he played some new tracks on cdr so we'll see :D

btw portland kicks ass!

i havent spoken to stewart for a long long time. he came to visit us in brighton at a particularly debauched phase, end of 1998 ..patric c from ec8r was staying at the same time... they werent really coming from the same place but both lovely people. stewart said he was quite shocked by what he witnessed that week but i hope on his worldwide techno travels he's now seen worse.

is stewart not much of a partier??

but you guys released a record by stewart walker (mosq 12).
I always thought that was an interesting change for the label since the style of techno that you guys had previously released was certainly different than stewarts minimal style.
