It is with much sadness that I have to tell you guys that Euterke passed away at the weekend, he was hit by a hit and run driver.

He posted here from time to time, and it's here that I first got to know him outside of the 'minimal' or 'netlabel' scene, in fact , it was here where I first heard some of his tracks which he subsequently gave us for release and to this day are some of my favourite.

He was an absolute diamond geezer, immensly talented, and will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

That is absolutely awful. I used to love his freaky avatar and he was a great contributor to this board.

If convicted, the SUV driver will most likely get three years, one criminal lawyer said - provided he has no previous convictions.

That is fucking bullshit. Should be more time, especially since he fled the scene.

I remember seeing Eurteke around these parts. Didn't speak to him much, but either way this is sad news.

Euterke seemed to pop up more in the Audiotech section in the past couple of years and he was always very knowledgeable and generous in his advice.

It almost seems shallow to even mention that in the face of the of loss of his friends and family... but I'm guessing a lot of people had a similar online relationship with him and he helped a lot of people make music.

I'd not encountered him before but it still saddens me to hear of someone perishing in such a unneccessary manner. Hit and run drivers are scum.

I really liked his music. and he seemed to be a reallly nice guy. R.I.P.

Thanks for all the kind comments folks, I'm sure he would appreciate you guys giving him a farewell nod :)

It's not going to fix anything, but there's now talk of the guy responsible facing life over this, but the reports are a bit confusing.

I'm not really into an eye for an eye or any of that sorta thing, but I hope it brings some comfort to his family and those who knew him to know that justice of sorts will be served.

Life seems a bit harsh.
I mean, it seems like an accident and the guy probably panicked and tried to drive off. I just thought three years was a too short. But at the same time, how does one come up with a proper sentence that is firm, but fair?

Oh shit, that's horrible! He was always knowledgeable and helpful in the audiotech forum, helped me out with problems on a couple of bits of kit. My deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
