here an interisting topic of a unknown person in a diskussion, IT IS NOT MINE.
what do you think are these arguments right?
canadians have it right and most will not argue that bush is a moron, the whole title that bush deserves is that he is an alcoholic/cocaine sniffing, born again christian and not to forget a moron.
however i hope that this moron earns a second term so that the job is finihsed, i mean so that the world assiciates fully what america really is. bush has done a good job of removing this cover of "good" that this violent nation has always titled itself.
the whole irony of this is that islam is associated with violence while christianity is associated with good.
was it not the christians that killed 1.5 million afghans and destroyed the whole country? was it not christians that killed millions of vietnamese and droped poisons like agent orange on multiple nations? ( what sadam did is more like a fart compared to what america did)
was it not the christians who droped two atomic bombs on nagasaki and heroshima? (america is the only nation who used nuclear bombs)
was it not christians who ethnically cleaned the balkans from muslims?
was it not christians who practiced colonialism and killed and destroyed unknown millions?
was it not christians who killed all the people of the americas?
was it not chrisitans who enslaved yet the people of another continent?
was it not chrisitans who killed in the name of their god through the crusades, through the catholic protestant wars, throughout history?
look at any moment in history you will find christians killing in the name of their RELIGION.
christianity is a murderous religion and not islam. we are only defending ourselves and we have the right to. we have been striped of all resources and striped of any means to have equal weapons of war. we are left with stones to fight and our blood is spilled daily and no one stops to ask.

the facts are right i reckon, but making an issue about christianity vs. islam is certainly wrong and won´t lead into a better future. same goes for always looking back into the past, i am sick of that really...we shouldn´t forget what happened and always be aware of but it´s about time to look ahead.
all that what happened and happnes still doesn´t justify terrorism...killing in the name of a religion that is just plain stupid and contradictory. it´s never about religion that´s just a lame excuse.

it is a shame but most (but not all) wars start because of religion or religious ideology, and thru history it is the christians who fucked up thr most people (tho Mohammed liked a fight unlike jesus..) - just look at Ireland, or the secterian violence in scotland, in the UK secterian violence in not that far away from anyware.

Aleks you are right Sorry that will make nothing better. But it is the reallity and thats the point. I don't like any religion but i respect them. But i won't help any Religion.

Me neither - religion isn´t my cup of tea (I prefer a cup of coffee instead) - won´t waste my time on that!!
I can´t stand why we still in 2003 fight eachother between different religions and thoughts.... come on guys!!!!! We have so many things we could work out - then getting greater and more wise!!
but nono....

I think the main issue here is these people use their relegions as a cover for committing violent acts or crimes, whether it be christians using christianity to be violent (or protest) against homosexuals or muslims using their religion to justify the poor treatment of women, it all comes down to mis-interpretation of their own religious texts whether it be by accident, or the words have been reworked to have a completely different meaning......I don't know if that came out quite as fluent as what someone else would write (I ain't good with wordy things) but I think you get the point I'm making....and the majority of religious people are tolerant, nice people that hate war and don't discriminate against people....just the nutters that give em a bad name

religion - always a reason for a war since people founded it. buy it now!
i can`t understand why religion divides the world. it`s a personal decision and nothing else...

If your not with us your aganist us. Look at the drugs laws, most people aren't hurting people, themselves or others, any more than people that like to have a few drinks do, yet we have to be ostracised from society because we're not the same carbon copy of the ideal image.

Unfotunately, religion has been used as a pretext for war for centuries now. I personally find it a disgrace that a "so called" Christian, Muslim, Hindu, Seek, Budhist (whatever religion you like) can claim to be doing good through spreading violence in the name of a god, when all of the religions I have encountered first and foremost preach a message of peace, love & tolerance.

when dogma becomes the main thing any any belief system it causes fundamentalism. when people have more time squabbling on what is right and what is wrong in their doctrines they have generally lost true belief, and are now looking for reasons. when the spirit is there, no matter what the "religion" there person is, you can see that they are an enlightened being.
people are lost in the world. its no wonder they fight each other!.

Trade, possessions, wealth, and property and the acquisition of the above are what this is about...
I personally feel that religion is a unwitting fall guy in this whole sorry mess, religions in themselves are not bad, what is bad is the powerful institutions that have arisen around them, these are nothing more than stateless/state free/pan-state organisation and power bases, that have corrupted their books of teaching into a policy documents to unify the people under their control... Ironically, they fit the same bill as terrorist and organised crime organisation...
Most religions don't need and were never inteneded to need power structures they spread themselves... its in their nature as collections of stories, parables and tales - that give us guidance on how to conduct ourselves and our communities, what to do in times of strife and what to do in times of plenty. Man (or at least some of them) have corrupted this and turned them to his own ends. As Jesus said to his disciples, go forth and spread the word. Of couse this is interpreted to mean, go forth conquer nations, subjigate other people, make them speak your language, gather up all their valuables and possessions and built a huge alter to your wealth and power... That's not religion that's greed.
Closest we get to religion these days are probably soap operas - modern day gospels... :)

...to further expand the last point, our religions may in fact be nothing more that collections of stories, early man having discovered the ability to tell of their experiences in tales and songs and so forth, this becomes a useful way of informing future generations about dangers encountered by their forefathers. The parable of the three men who build their houses, one on rock, one on sand, one wherever the other one was. Of course ministers today talk about this in analagous terms, of course it may have been straightforward advice - don't build your house where its gonna fall down or get washed down river... So when religions say go forth and spread the word, they simply mean go forth and tell people about your life... This would lead to a constantly evolving religion.
The corruption seems to come when technology allows you to collate the stories together then it starts to become static and worse becomes censorable and edittable. So in the same way that we remove ourselves from biological evolution, we remove ourselves from our religious evolution. Consider these days that in order to hear tales and songs one must go down and purchase them from a shop, or pay to see them in cinemas and theatres - it would seem that the traders are once again back in the temple.
Maybe I'm just a bit of a fan of religion - maybe forums like this are more like religions should be... we all sit and swap tales about our lives, ask each other advice... meet new friends and so on...

good points and i fully agree with aleks on this one..........but damn if those facts wont be good tactical facts towards those bible belt people fighting me in the streets of my "Bob Jones" town. for facts like these will help me not get beat up by the rampaging racist christians that occupy my city. note: ! all christians are not bad, and the idea of christ and his teachings not pauls teachings are great fundamentals we all can learn from.

well, see, the older i get -and especially in these times- the more i do believe that changes to a better world are always only temporarly.
90% of the peolpe in the western world want to come home from work, want a beer and a fuck. nothin else. people are lazy and desinterrested and thats why they will always lose their liberty after a certain time.
maybe im wrong i do hope so, if not, only genetics can save us
