28/3/03- As part of Version Fest. @ Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago www.versionfest.com
Well first we I was a little disappointed as we entered and it was not $6 but $15. Anyway it was worth it to see Bodenstandig. So this was an hour show with Bodenstandig2000 www.bodenstandig.de vs. 8-bit construction set www.beigerecords.com . Each group took turns playing tunes or Djing. First up was Paul Davis on the ones and twos Juggling Kenny G. Wasnt the best freestyle set but I think it was do to poor slip matts. Up next was Bodenstandig with a lovely accapella song with the only english sentance in their music "The human has been neutralized" from an old atari game. Then next was 8bit with some more atari music and back to Bodenstandig etc. Overall I say Bodenstandig stole the show with new some new tracks. Other highlights was the modified Nintendo game played on Nintendo 16bit system, Bodenstandig representative Dragon with imprompto raps and singing over 8bit made tracks.
29/3/03 Cassete Jockey World Championships w/ perfomance by Bodenstandig2000 @ www.camp-gay.org
Well first was the CJ comp. were I think the worse you were the better your score. I dont know you would have to be there to see it. http://www.post-data.org/cassette/ So after waiting for this event to end Bodenstandig2000 came on too a very hyped up crowd. Just to side track for a moment. Chicago crowd rule, this was a fucking freak out rave blast. People were getting naked, lighting shit on fire, stage diving. It was a blast of hedonistic pleasure that I thought was lost. So Bodenstangig2000 takes stage and for the next 45min we enjoyed a mega Rave Blast!!!! They played new tracks plus classics from their multi platinum selling;) album from Rephlex (I highly recommend it) Bodenstandig2000-Mega Rave Blast Hits vol. 3-rephlex. Then after them Paperrad crew and someone else tore it up on vocal effects, two drum sets and electric guitar.
oh and I recorded it all;)
