Hello...
Can anyone give me pointers to finding out about unofficial parties, club nights etc in and around Barcelona around the time of SONAR? Especially outdoor/soundsystem type things?

Yes, Andreas - I don´t know how official it is yet, but La Esk will meet Aabtek (danish label/organisation) friday 13. june at club Cyberian.
I will be playing there (yes, this is not happening too often! hehe) along with some of my friends from the Aabtek crew. So I think you should come by and have fun with us - it will be some noizyyy shit - no doubt!! hrhrhrh

The Friday night (possibly Thursday night) me and Dave Tarrida will do the Moog club - we plan a drum machine jam , possibly a detroit bass version of the Birdy Song..

yeah, a lot of beach things going on, which you absolutely shouldnt miss, and then off course our dj battles: laesk.com vs aabtek.com and kondi-records.com in cyberian. the weekend before, we have hit up and acid revival tour, stay tuned for updates, very special guest to appear...
watch out for cyberian, a venue just outside the sonar by night venue, an excellent place to go just before sonar by night...

i'm pretty sure that the original birdie song was written by a dutch group called 'the electronicas' - was this mate of your dad's dutch? or was he one of the UK session musicians who played on the rip-off that was released 2 weeks after the original which promptly trounced it in the charts?

so if you just take a wander down to the beach theres parties on there? i dont know whether to buy the sonar ticket or not. how easy is it to change where you are and go to anothere venue? is there any point even doing that? theres various people i want to see but at various venues. hmm. at least it should be sunny.
how much would you say a marked up hotel room is going to cost?
are there usually tickets left on the days of show?
will there be a Erutufon board meet? does anyone want to meet?

hey here another freak from laesk.com. if ya wanna meet, you all members of this board, you can come to tha party @ cyberian with aabtek and us... exceptional club where you can freely smo0ke ya jioints hmmmm... and enjoy with da spanish hotest girls ;-)
but if ya wanna know where the parties at beach gonna be, just visit the recordshop Tasmaniac, close to "la rambla", they always got the flyer of all the free parties around da city.
This year sonar moves the night venue to a bigger place = more people = pffffffffff....
But of course there are really interesting alternatives.

the whole thing is really central during the day and more or less all contained within the MACBA museum complex just off la ramblas as such all the stages are a couple of minutes away from each other apart from one or two of the design and technology bits
its different in the evening, you get a bus from the bottom of la ramblas ( or make your own way ) to the nighttime venue where all the acts are on ( apart from herbert on the thursday this year) which the past couple of years has been a bit out of town so its a bit more of a pain if you want to run off to a club night
but aye, there are always loads of parties and it could well be possible to go to barcelona for that week and hear loads of ace music and not go near SONAR, but you'd be kickin yourself if you did i think...especially as you've got to help me to get wrecked on cava and noise everyone up....

in some aspects i agree with ya VIRUS, there are lot of things @ MACBA going on that one must check. on the other hands the night venue obligation to visit, shall depend on the own musical taste and of course there will be lot of "unofficial" parties going on that will be interesting...

fully agree..
daytime is essential, the night time is getting bigger and bigger which is a pain in my eyes and the lineup is not so convincing at times
i promised myself this year would make more of a point to attend parties in the eveing instead....still gutted on missing that rooftop Spezial Material gig last year

Very interesting for producers is the "gear test area" that every year is better, and this of course goes on at daytime, at MACBA. This is really not to miss!

i think he is playing at moog one night (with cristian)........dunno if he is playing directly at sonar as well.......

davey t and cristian, and others are playing techno at the tresor party at the moog (little sweaty club at top of ramblas) which is probably on friday night of sonar. ill post exact details when i have them
cristian's set at our showcase wont be techno like. itll be a mix of stuff...
