I've only heard of Si Begg in connection with the Buckfunk3000 remix he made for Super_Collider's first Album.
Could someone recommend somewhere to start for the uninitiated among us? :)

does anyone know there i can get that still today?
IP - Si is one of our longest standing collaborators - he nigh on 'discovered' me , back in 1991 - we founded Mosquito Records together back in 94... He sometimes drops by the board , but not so much ..

This new Directors cut album is gonna be the bollax, im glad hes doing some banging ragga shit with some mpc2000 shuffle, swing shit tweaked the fucked out. someone needed to do that. Im sick of noodling shity little electronic music, i want bangers, itss all about bangers.

One of my all time favourites is Buckfunk 3000 - Planet Rock Future Shock.
Totally blew me away when I first heard it.
Nice one si, looking forward to hearing your new album.
i once read a review on 'Buckfunk 3000 - Planet Rock Future Shock' and it called it 'bubblegum trance from hell'
hahaha
sounds like the biggest Mutt of genres ive ever heard... but in such a good way...
there is a german dancefloor hit ala 'welcome' in the middle somewhere...

That preview sounds ruff... I'm quite excited. The last album was really good but kind of stayed in nuskool/electro territory a little bit too much for my tastes. I've been hoping he'd veer further into bling territory ever since Locked In Locked On with Hairy Butter (it's on the Lo Records sampler album) which to me is to garridge what Squarepusher's "Conumber" was to d&b. Total pirate mayhem. That preview download for Directors Cut sounds like spinning across the dial in south London, only extra glossy and rah. I hope it sells a fuckload.
However, let us not forget that garridge has moved on now - it's all about the roll deep now, slow rollers, neptunes shuffle and gabba kicks.

I like the idea that he's made some 2step type tracks, looking forward to hearing those. In fact, that's a whole other thread ... comin' up ....
Lady E
3rd June 2003, 13:33
yep i stayed up to hear the meteorites played - til 1.30 am, most unlike me!
she called the album 'dub the magic dragon' but never mind.
also radio one are goign to transmit the meteorites show from sonar either on the breezeblock or john peel, apparently, in the couple of weeks after sonar...
i shall post details when i have them

It was an all round top show - I must tune in more often - new tracks from Si Begg, some stuff from the new Radioactiveman album - the Meteorites, I must remember to tune in more often...
It seems like everyone is off doing interesting things, that are just banging, maybe its me just getting old and mellowing...
