help,
mac disc images i download from, erm, a friend, to my MS PC at work never mount properly once i burn them onto disc and transfer to my home mac. Work has the fast net connection, see. darn it. Can u help?

i am in the same situation...are you using the adaptec easy cd-creator software? if so, don't: its shit...use nero burning rom, you can download a free demo which works for about a month. i used this for burning mac/linux iso images and it worked perfectly.

oh, you have to select what format the image is when using nero (eg hfs (mac), hybrid, etc...i can't remember exactly) but there isn't many choices and i don't remember having a problem with it...good luck!

if you d/l something that is an installer-cd like maybe fm7 from a friend as a backup thaen you have to burn a MAC_VOLUME!!! all other won´t work since the volumestructure is important!!!

if you like it buy it!!!

exactly - some pc software doesn't recognise some volumes as valid images and won't burn them

thanks for the help. Have nero installed, but to burn an HFS disc it seems i need a HFS partition on a SCSI drive! arg. I have a sd.img file (mac) on a pc. I have tried burning as an ISO but then the img wont unpack properly. Cannot burn it from an HFS partition as i dont have one and cant create one. Am i missing some option in nero?

honestly get them onto a mac if you can and make an iso from there its the least hassle mate.

ive never managed to get them to work. but hey maybe thats me.

im using nero the latest one.... i know there is a util to do diskimages on a mac (all you mac users will probably know this)

so.... if you got it off a "mate" get him to make it into an iso or nrg file if not dont download them in the future as they dont really work on pc's good.

or.... buy an imac.....
