Any Björk fans here? I must confess most of her stuff has passed me by. But the other day I found a Cristian Vogel remix of a Bjork track. But being a bit bored of banging techno recently, I decided to investigate further and I have to say I’m really impressed the tracks are a lot more musically challenging than I expect or had been led to believe by the singles that I’ve heard (or maybe I didn’t listen to the chart stuff that much).

That said though, I ran through all the shared directories on the hundred or so people who work in our office (I was bored) and not one scratch of Björk on any of them, which quite surprised me. I’d have thought some of the girls would have had some but nothing…

I noticed she is playing at Sonar this year too…

I saw her at her very first UK performance, at a CRASS promoted Miner's Benefit Gig, in Lark Lane, Liverpool, in 1984.

Björk was then with K.U.K.L, and her voice, and performance blew the entire audience away. I immediately bought their first release on Crass, entitled 'THE EYE'

but i guess my taste changed after that.
as an oddball personality she rocks...but i`m not so into her music now

i have some material of her lying around... im more into her videos which are always top notch such as Hunter & all is full of love and that last track when the coloured teardrops passthru her mouth and the video is a close up of her face
and that Matmos album was creative ( off topic: i read this week that the dudes are a gay couple.. ) but dancer in the dark & selma songs made me consider suicide...

I have to admit I have everything she has ever released, icluding Kukl, sugarcubes etc
Have seen her live a few times, shes wicked. Am looking forward to seeing her at the Sonar festival.

i really like her stuff. and saw this amazing broadcast of her performing the royal albert hall a couple of years ago - with a full orchestra and avante guarde harpists. totally beautiful.

she actually was at the night that i saw herbert djing in nyc. we were all quite amused.

yes he did the "homogenic" album and without doubt some other tracks for her.

I really love her stuff aswell - think she is more than talented!
I buy (!) all her releases but I haven´t got the old stuff like Sugarcubes... maybe I should go look for that?

the early lyrics of Björk's first band, K.U.K.L were often surreal, and she sang mostly in icelandic, which I really liked

aah, I wasn't sure if it was a remix or a bootleg... it did sound like a bootleg, but not being that familar with Bjork's tracks and having a memory like a sieve in general for techno tracks, I couldn't say with any confidence and didn't want to put my foot in my mouth...

I liked it when björk was in space ghost: coast 2 coast with space ghost and tom yhorke, playing space ghost's wife. she was supposed to do a concert at a local russian orthodox church a couple of years ago here which would've been amazing thanks to the accoustics of that place, but the gig was cancelled *sigh*

As far as I can remember she hooked up with Mark Bell after splitting from the Sugarcubes, Matmos & Herbert producing her last album though.

I really like her stuff, but I find myself more drawn to the more recent works.

i got it by mistake off soulseek whilst searching for songs with the werd irritating in the title. i though "well i may aswell d/load it." If cris is unaware of it then it's probably just a badly titled mp3. I'm off for an eye test now. Wish me luck everyone. Last night i hugged my dad's landlord.

I haven't seen the Björk/Vogel mix either... (funny if it was made by some guy named Clarence Vogel or perhaps a lady named Lulubella Vogel- and people are just making assumptions that there is some Cristian imposter)-

The Herbert remix of Pagan Poetry on Recycled Sounds is beautiful.

There is also a track (I believe it is on Naked Music)- that just says Björk on it, that is amazing... Anyone know who made this?
