Fri- Sheffield to visit my parents, eve watched the final episodes of Gormsby & had a few glasses of wine.
Sat- family things, then got mashed up with Spandex & Yer_Maw in a pub, but played an 'anything goes' sort of set. My headphone cable got trodden on & i couldn't hear to mix tho.
Sun- Nice lunch at home, pub PM, eve internet

Fuck all really. Recovering from my gran's funeral. Trying to work. Out with mates down the pub Friday. A very fine vodka espresso at Olv's yesterday afternoon then watching the elderly gays on BBC4... "If tha can stand oop in public and say tha've been a poof all thy life, then yer a better man than me... now come on and ave a pint!" from the old yorkshire miner brought a tear to my eye... reading the new William Gibson and listening to all this month's experimental and dubstep promos for my reviews pages today, just trying to write a few reviews now so I can start the week with not too much work pressure.

Friday - went for walk in the dales with dad and brother - felt chilled for the first time in months - saw wabbits and hawks and sheep and trees and lakes - I need to see these things more often
Saturday - Sonic Youth at the Roundhouse - astounding - they fucking rock, even though they're now Sonic MiddleAge. Then went to a shit acid techno rave and left after half an hour to be violently ill whilst simultaneously suffering from a nosebleed - dunno whether that was a reaction to the music or to a dodgy chicken noodle thing I bought from a Blade Runner stall in Camden
Sunday - chilling with mates, then cooked a roast and gorged ourselves

Saturday - Sonic Youth at the Roundhouse - astounding - they fucking rock, even though they're now Sonic MiddleAge.
Friday - went to see da yoof at the Roundhouse and I agree, they absolutely fucking rock. All bands need to use more feedback. Best gig I've been to in ages. Didn't think they were looking too bad for their ages, all things considered. Lee Ranaldo did look a bit "mate's cool dad" though.
Saturday - Went to the Crafting Beauty in Modern Japan exhibition at the British Museum which was wicked. Some really beautiful, brilliantly crafted objects. Mooched around some of the rest of the BM and marvelled at the vast array of treasures and historically and archaeologically important pieces teefed from other cultures around the world. Thought about going to Theo at PP but delayed hangover and tiredness got the better of me so I lamed out and limped back to Darzet instead.
Sunday - Did manly stuff like changing washers on taps and cutting branches off trees, cut grass and other assorted dullness.
Sunday - chilling with mates, then cooked a roast and gorged ourselves

Friday - headed up to London to my gf's - had a curry and some wine.
Saturday - me and gf went to Camden to just wonder around, found a nice tea shop in the market - kinda one of those barebones place with ramshackle mismatched selection of chairs and tables - but it's in a really sunny spot and nice and airy. £2 for a pot of free, proper tea and proper sandwiches made from proper decent bread - could sit in their for hours. Got dismayed at how totally uniform camden market is in it's ununiformity (is that a word?).
Sun - went to Colombia road flower market gf has just got one of those Lomo fisheye cameras so went crazy getting pics of flowers and east London urban grime. Then it was bricklane - got some new shirts and t-shirts from the Paul Frank sample shop. In 12 months since I last bought one of their t-shirts I've slimmed down from the XL to the M and not through the rave diet either.
Finally had Bagels and the Bagel shop and then hit a somewhat ramshackle but charming bar nearby and downed three mojitos each and a meze platter. Nice mixture of indian and middle eastern snacks and lovely nan breads.
The place has these curious 80s anti-russian Afghanistan rugs hanging up. Dunno if they're the owner's or whether you can buy them by the dozen just around the corner - the latest think in mock ethnicity. But they're like traditional rugs - but with pictures of Hind gunships and Russian tanks and maps of Afghanistan stitched on them.
Then I had to go back to Portsmouth - which was shit.

Friday - got pissed on 3 pints - went to visit some friends with the intention of dragging them out clubbing - but then felt sick and went home to bed.
Saturday - Killed a whole heap of zombies, ate some food, went and bought cool things for my cat, spent sunday playing with catnip bubbles and then played company of heros.
Quite a chilled one compared to the previous weekend, which seemed to consist mainly of driving around going to gigs and the likes with the odd bit of caning thrown in for good measure.

They already built a big new building for the new tube station which has loads of indoor market stalls. A lot of the existing shops in the stables have relocated to these. And like I said for all it's so called uniqueness - there's a lot of repitition - a lot traders selling cheap crap, the same cheap crap that a lot of other traders are selling - I'm sure there's room for some people selling branded crap.

saturday morning I returned to said bar to watch premiership football. I wasn't feeling very hungry so didn't eat any food, instead I got hammered drunk with some friends. I ended up going home sometime in the afternoon. I passed out once home and then woke up at 9 at night. smoked weed and drank some more. my laptop stopped working so I destroyed it. ripped the ishit to pieces.
