also worth checking out is a label by dj slugo, called "subterranean playhouse".
been lucky to find two ep´s at hardwax, but this was in 1999 / 2000, i guess. quite cool stuff, unfortunately not that easy to get...

approx. five months ago, i caught an ep by dj nasty on the breakin' mpc-series, which might be worth a try.

i really like this style between some mindblowing techno-tunes, maybe because the "lyrics" make me grin on the dancefloor.

I love booty house myself. I like the chicago stuff but my favorite is baltimore booty house. that stuff has the best funk and groove in my opinion.

Thing is so many versions of that track have been re-released by deeon and funk, I think the version I would have been playing was off the DJDeeon "Tear the club up" on Pro-Jex, but it can also be found on some of the "Ghetto houz anthems" e.p.s on Funk recordings.... I would have also played DJ Funk "DJ funky" on Dancemania....

I've really been getting into these new guys, DJ Nasty, DJ Prophet, Disco D, Nephets, and the electrofunk stuff....

They all seem to mess with their decks so they do the +/-16 thing as the tempos vary on the trax so much, and slipping in drum and bass stuff with it... hearing godfather recently has blown me away, good to hear some music with real excitement in...

Mike Grant was in seattle and got invited to play some records on sir mix a lot's radio show. since he didn't have any records with him he called derrick may who sent him a package of records. so mike plays them and then leaves them at the radio station. one of the records was juan attkins technicolor. a few months after the radio show sir mix a lot comes out with baby got back with the samples from technicolor. subsequently juan sued sir mix a lot and won. I read this story in an interview with mike grant in urb magazine from a few years back.
