damn. that was a strange night. this club sucks. strange door, strange owners, strange prices. iam really pissed off. travelled 160 km for this club, and then this guy from the door said that he will kickin my ass out of the club, only coz ive asked for guestlist. the other nf people had the same problems. strange club.

The people obviously liked the set, but it wasn't the usual cristian-vogel-style of music. A few good tracks here and there, but the rest was more like standard-loop-techno.
KaOz
29th March 2003, 17:33
well, the most people want this kind of music there, and as dj u have to play music like the crowd it want. there was only 6-8 "open minded people" in this club, which no future flava

RHEIN NECKAR suckz!!
They only want the standard loop sound or laidback tech house.
I want everything.

Well, If Vogel played 'everything' ... world rhythms, jazz techno house avant garde electro boogie, I certainly wouldn't complain - I want to be filled with sound....
jukka
30th March 2003, 20:44
well a dj should play what he likes to play !!!
Well - yes there was some loop sound , but thats all part of it too isn't it ? - I played remix 2 from the two remixes by AFX CD , which I've always wanted to play and that song alone contains quite a lot of 'everything' - I dropped 21st Century Fix - imagine me phreakin out inside, playing that 'Oi' style track from this amazing new double in deepest Germany... I played disco , I mixed some pioneering electronic concret stuff .. it was all in there - the club space , and the raver crew , made it feel bland - it wasn't me!
and apologies if you had that guest list trouble - I don't think we organised a guest list for this weekend , so really sorry if you had to endure some bouncer aggression ...

of course everything consists of loops.
So it makes no sense to reject loop based music.
techno itself consists of loops and samples.
But it´s quite useless to start a discussion about how many "ordinary" techno tracks should be played in a set.
It is also useless to complain that LiveActs use prepared loops in a liveSet. Then you could also complain about djs using records or mp3s.
In my opinion Djs and LiveActs can play what they want how they want.
they aren´t bucket carriers. they are performers.
As long as it is entertaining it is cool.

Do you go in to a Trance IP?

²phil: yes, i can enter a trance-like state when i dance - it's a 'drug' to me@dance/music. i'm sure everyone can do this :)
normally, in public, i don't enter this state for long, because there are so many other things to consider, such as being aware of, and interacting with the people around me, so the 'trancing out' is reserved for all-nighters or private parties and the music /sound system does have to be particularly good for this.
²chip tronic: excellent explanation :)

hehe.. poor karlsruhe :<
I wonder how much the club-athmosphere affects the perception of music.
Anyway, this set of Cristian wasn't quite that what I expected, but I expected pretty much after the blasting performance @ neue heimat :>

@ cristian: i think u played a very good set at neue heimat and we can`t compare it with the night in karlsruhe but it was okay.
@ emma: i think that club didn`t want to recive the list. the other dj had 4 people on his list and the guy at the door said there where only 3 on it. thx for the try ;)
i think the night wasn`t very bad cause now i found very funny people. i know... laughing about people and they way they are dresst is not nice... but i love it ;)
