I nearly would consider going to croatia for my summer holidays. We were kind of planning to go to sardinia in the next couple of weeks, but if croatia is very nice and cheaper...

how much might a decent hotel, lunch etc... go for komakid?

depends on the location. in dubrovnik its expensive in smaller places cheaper. and it depends on where decent starts for you. three stars? five stars? pizza? lobster?

we intended to go somewhere smaller and quieter and not spend too much money this time. so probably 3 or 4 stars and certainly not lobster.

there are many possibillities. if youd like to go to korcula, where this thing is happening it would be better to go for a private aparment. ther it starts from 30 euro - 70 euros per night. depends on the size etc. a decent dinner (soup, meat, veggies, salad) you can buy from 15 -25 euros per person. in the shops its quiet cheap espaccially when you buy croatian products which are good.

if you want to stay in a hotel i wouldnt recommend you korcula, as the hotels arent that good there (again it depends on you). there are nice other islands losinj (great nature, quiet). inlosinj, there is this nice hotel in mali losinj directly in the towns center.

when i worked for thomsons holiday a woman asked me "i want to go somewhere different, somewhere brilliant." so i proffered croatia, and she replied "NO WAY. THERES A WAR ON." this was 2003. Tenerife then?

thats the first thing someone will mention if you mention my county: the civil war. the war ended 12 years ago and im going to serbia in two weeks to visit friends, i love. so ... please. people are just so uninformed. they just stick to facts, which they saw in prime time on tv, even if it was a decade ago. i bet the lady didnt know exactly where my country is positioned on the card, not to mention that she doesnt know the name of our capital. she just knew that she watched the news 10 years ago, and that there was a war. but, please no war on this topic. as i said last year, make your own war topic and talk about violence, blood, weapons, screams and death somewhere else.

if you are a tourist it doesnt matter. for me as a croatian its a bit sad. im on probation at the moment and i have to be very carefull. but dont make yourself a picure, that this is malaysia, where they hang you. they dont bother about smoking tourists, they bother about smoking croatians.

bad news about the probation man, i got done by the cops here a few months ago (with a few grams) but got away with it no problem - would be a fucking nightmare to have to be worried about getting jail time for smoking a zabbie. I hoep you've got a good system for hiding your stash.

i dont smoke anymore, to be honest. but i use the usual party uppers which my girlfriend hides for me. :) the probation is over in three months. ... puh

we are picking a new goverment this year so, i hope things will change then
