Is Sign of The Times, the one with the track that has him yabbin' on about people doing horse and stuff, cos I like that track.

And I too loved the Batman soundtrack but yes, I was only 13.

I might go for that boxset, but if its dead dear, then people can bloody chip in ... sick of paying for peepz chillout entertainment (if you know what I mean ;-)

What about Diamonds and Pearls - its got Cream and Get Off on it ???

Or is it more his early 80's stuff that's the best ?

i think that's the classic album really

prince declined a lot after lovesexy, but i hear a return to form is imminent. i saw him doing a small live gig on tv last year or something and it looked fucking incredible.

id love to hear the black album...De:Bug said raw digits sounded like it

i know this girl called rebecca wright who was the biggest prince fan ever. She was also a real hot looker. After being asked by prince himself she went on a date with him. He tried to bed her but she was going out with this guy called rob marshall (who's now gay) and she declined him...She said he was all hands and she was taller than him and that put her off him. 3 months later rob marshall dumped her. raw digits didnt sound anything like the black album.
Th black album is pretty dark but its not really weird and stuff. Also Prince doesnt use any vocal effects. (although i heard that was a warp contract deal)

"rock hard in a funky place" - thats the one i remember from the black album, you may be able to find it on soulseek maybe, its rather gooode. emma i saw a live vid from about a year ago and it totally blew me away, he always has the tightest band going.

Oh and a few people I've been sat off with when I've put Raw Digits on have also noted that it sounds quite Princey in places, oh and a couple of tracks on Jamie Liddels album too.

Is Jamie Liddel gonna start wearing high heeled boots with a p-funk purple jumpsuit anytime soon ? He must be a hit with the laydeez....

jamie always gets compared to prince vocals wise, i can see where they are coming from but he doesnt really sound like him

Em, i never managed to get the original (although it is fair to say that i have looked as hard for it as i have a new car and i can't even drive or afford to keep a gold fish alive let alone buy a new car)
However online it was as easy as stealing cloves of garlic, black pepper and other small pots of condiments from safeway on st james' street.
So in short i could burn you a copy in the wrong order if you like.

Around the world in a day = one of the best Prince album in my opinion...
I love everything he did with tThe Revolution, and of course, Sign Of the times is a must-have...

grobelaar - you are correct. i think it was in the wire. jamie grew up on prince.

$eye - buckfast doesnt taste like sloe gin. its got a vimto / benylin quality ...a hearty yet cloying and syrupy drink

next time we have a visit from scotland ill ask them to bring you some, if you are good.

My big brother was quite into Prince - I'm sure he still likes his stuff.
I'm not gonna pretend I know bags about him, and all of the records he released, but I know that he is indeed one of the funky-sexy-daddy's of music...

We have a Prince album in our vinyl collection downstairs - it's a picture-disk "Purple Rain".

I'm sure it's been scratched to fuckery now, but all the same, it looks preety...

and PRINCE again ...

I love his music and most of the Releases, especially the "Sign´O The Times"-Album (the whole album is brilliant) and the "Parade"-Album with the unbelievable "Mountains" and the very sexy "Boys & Girls".

The most danciest Track is "Baby I´m Star" from the Purple Rain-Soundtrack. I think it has 140 bpm. Bang the Box!

I saw Prince live a few times - Lovesexy tour, Wembley; Nude tour; then Diamonds and Pearls, which, while it didn't match up with the other tours, was still fantastic in a sleazy kind of way.

The Lovesexy tour blew me away though - I'll never forget it.
Anyone else ever caught the funked-up little pervert live?

Yep, I saw him in Dortmund/ Westfalenhallen. It was the "Alphabet Street"-Tour. The concert was brilliant, a little bit like a big party ... and Sheila bang the drums ... :)
