ooh nice, what you using to play mods in OSX Cris?
MacAmp Lite X
they sound particularly authentic if you put the double gain and volume boost plugs on the playback!
is macAmp lite x freeware? or is there any free software for mac or pc that can run these files? would like to check them out, but have no idea about this kinda thing. or if anyone can be arsed converting them to mp3 that'd be cool.
there's loads and loads of modplayers on PC and a few on OS X...

haha great stuff.
these also play in vlc
vlc plays anything - fact
someone was telling me it'll even try playing a PDF file if you ask it too. Expect a load of noise, though.
I used to a bit of mod tracker music on the amiga, lost everything I did, but it was probably crap, so no great loss

Dude, I made THOUSANDS of MODS - they weren't the best of the extensive output. just what's survived, 17 years later. Thats good enough for me.
Post one of yours from 17 years ago lets have a battle.

Hey Tsr_Robban
thankyou for searching all those MODs of mine out
I am having such a major flashback now!

I wonder how many others of those mod makers turned their hand to a successful career as an electronic musician?

Most Pulse musicians are pro today afaik.
Won any compos Cris?
nope - but the fact that I got archived , is alright - they are so crap! - but in the spirit of the age...
I like how some of them sample the games we were bootlegging back then - the laugh from Barbarian II , the lead synth from R-Type... then there's a load of home made breaks and crap brass leads and then some
also there's two covers.... Running by information society and 5-8-6 by New Order from the 2nd Peel Session EP...
I remember doing some pretty cool Acid stuff, but they were too big for inculsion on demos and spreads... vertigo, yes

the laugh from Barbarian II , the lead synth from R-Type...
I played R-Type recently, some great sounds in that, I love the intro at the start of level 1.
It's funny how computer game music and more specifically mod music played such a role in techno but its generally just a footnote in the any 'official' history of the form... maybe the mod scene etc was more of a European thing?.. maybe not as sexy or photogenic as the detroit or chicago scenes..
