…when records don’t come with the paper inner sleeves? I’m sorry but the cardboard outer sleeves damage the vinyl. Why is this? Do you save money by not having the paper inner sleeve? If so, I can understand if it’s a new label and you’re are struggling to get things off the ground. But I bought the new Scandanavia Sessions EP, Neil Landstrumm and Tobias Schmidt, and apart from costing 50p more than normal import records, and having a fancy full colour outer sleeve – it doesn’t come with a paper inner sleeve. I think this is a bit off really, surely with a release like this they can’t be scrimping and saving a few pence on a paper sleeve. I’d rather see money saved on fancy colour artwork, particular given its only an EP. Maybe I’m just whinging…

Good tunes though… I’ll just have to rob the sleeve off some old Drumcodes that I don’t listen to any more… (I knew they’d come in useful one day…)

I prefer no sleeve over those plastic sleeves...
and in some cases the paper sleeve is not quite suitable for the cover and ends up scrunched up at the bottom of the cardboard outer sleeve, which is annoying as fuck...

i hate that shit too. i prefer the traditional paper sleeves. im very anal about my records, i usually dont play with my records like a dj would or i used to. cueing up the record and shit like that, now a days im the man that just lightly puts the needle calabrated and all on the freshly cleaned record, play it out and i put it back into the inner sleeve then upside down in the outer sleeve, then upside down in the plastic sleeve covering the outer sleeve itself. gently putting the record back in alphabetical order. and finding another record to play.

i don´t think to much of the folder´s, as long as they don´t break or get trashed... coz often it´s just me like the idiot i´m drop´s the vinyl on the floor and create cracks.
like the Rototype - emulator ep. damn i boutght it for 100kr and 40min later at home i drop the baby and gets a huge´s crack. it´s now broken and good to play =(

Do you have one of those £2000 record players, where you have to change the belt to change speed, with a perfectly balanced needle that just gently floats onto the vinyl - tethered into a superfine audiophile hi-fi?

@phil never touch the record itself, only the edges. when you put the record into the sleeve make sure that the sleeve is not exposed. get a really good cleaning kit. i have the one my father gave to me from way back when. i clean with distilled water, never from the tap. maybe a little bit of solution, and walla!....

its just good practice...................... especially 45's

on limited (1000 copies) presses sleeves with inners cost you more than the actual vinyl? scandolous. that's why people end up just using 'disco bags' as they are known

disco bags, haha. a well organized collection is definitely something to strive for imho, though I'm definitely not as anal about my vinyls as pille seems to be =)

what's pretty annoying as well is when one gets a fresh vinyl and the sleeve breaks on the same day - what do they glue them with, saliva?
