"It's hard to see how someone can claim they are making some 'honest money' by stealing other peoples' works," said Jay Berman, Chairman and CEO of International Federation of the Phonographic Industry."

Man, when are these Imperialist fuckwits going to learn, the people creating the P2P file sharing software aren't stealing jackshit...

The US lets people design, manufacture and sell guns and weapons every single day of the week, I don't see McDonnell Douglas in court charged with murder, robbery and various other attrocities that they perpetrate...

Of course this would leave the record companies with having to pursue the millions of members of public who are stealing their property - which of course leaves lawmakers with the interesting dilemma - if this many people are breaking the law, then maybe the law is at fault...

I hope this does well, as I see it as a fairer way of valuing something - its almost like virtual bartering..

that comparison is stretching it a bit imho, grobelaar - although at the end of the day, I see it the same way as you do concerning p2p networks...I fear that gridcomputing isn't far enough yet to really be a viable form of business, but who knows - I really like the concept, in any case.

No its not at all - but people have been arrested and taken into custody for writing DVD decoders for Linux OS - not copying DVDs, not having a huge warehouse copying loads of blockbuster movies - just writing decoders so that they can use DVDs for their OS...

The comparison isn't stretching it at all - if that is going to happen then Weapons Manufacturers should be made accountable for how their products are 'abused' as well - should be fun if you ask me...

I shouldn't worry too much about the Iraq situation, it's the rampant corporate imperialism we should be looking out for...
