mp3s are already circulating of martin lee gore's 2nd solo album, counterfeit2 - it's a collection of cover songs, and i must admit i'm quite impressed. i like it better than exciter which was ok, but this one is great! especially his version of a country song named "i cast a lonesome shadow" is brilliant, i think. the archive i found contained the original tracks as well, and he did a really good job in interpreting those tracks which were originally done by nick cave, nico, iggy pop, velvet underground and others. great mixture of synths & some guitars - and he was always the better singer in depeche mode anyway. i'll definitely buy it!

Nice! Thanks for the heads up c s!

Martin Gore was always my favourite as well- Mastermind in the shadows...

Shivers from The Things You Said-
I have the 'A Question of Lust' 12 - The minimal version is really nice.

Gonna look out for the new solo stuff for sure!

well, i knew this probably wouldn't be an extraordinarily popular thread as he is of course not the hottest, newest underground shit in electronic music - but perhaps he is! ;) at least it's the most interesting vocal electronic album i got to hear since s_c. btw, i doubt gahan can compete with his own solo album. i really have the impression things get worse with him.

too bad Alan Wilder's most recent Recoil was rather dull. i always though he had great production skills.
Gahan needs to go on vacation and maybe find a new vocation.

the video "a night in paris" has the most horrible gahan-vocals on it i ever heard. i really wonder how they dared to release it. even hardcore-fans i showed it to said it sounded like far too many drinks.
