Don’t be so rude IP. Phil has too much creativity and he must let it out in the various threads created by him.lol

I have to admit that I was a big Dr Who fan as a kid, but thinking about it now, JE5 has a good point...

(that's if you mean by gay that it's crap - if you think he's homosexual then I couldn't possibly comment - he seemed to have an equal amount of female and male young assistants - maybe he bisexual... )

LOL @ Grobelaar -

I barely remember Dr. Who- but I used to stay up and watch it with my Father... I remember being scared of the underground slug episode (K9 was there).. Although, I have no recollection as to the name of the episode.

I would probably laugh at the "special effects" now...

Also used to watch "V" religiously (around the same time)- Anyone catch this series?

Hiro!!! I brought V the entire collection on Saturday, and like you I used to love it. obviously when i was a kid the cheese factor didn't register. but it's still a great watch, i love the conversion chamber.
The mini-series was wicked but the final battle fell off a bit cause it wan't done by Kennith Johnson,

I'd have to agree with you there. Pertwee wasn't bad. On the flipside you have Colin Baker, Peter Davidson and the most heinous of crimes Sylvester McCoy. Total wank the three of 'em.

phil

NO!! Peter Davidson is not wank. ok hes not on Toms level by a mile but he has some good momments.

i like Tom in the comedy phase.

peter davidson is easily runner up to tom baker. he rocked the cricket thing.

Basic 2: The Revenge
7th March 2003, 16:03
OK, he is not wank in the same bracket as the other two - he was the doc when I was a pup - but he just wasn't as eccentric I don't think. Perhaps not in as a visual way as his two predecessors. I guess Tom Baker was barking mad a lot of the time and Pertwee was worzel gummidge. What chance did Davidson have really?

mccoy can fuck off and die

did you see the awful hollywood style doctor who, with one of those brothers, the McGanns, as dr who? it was a one off 'special'. 1995 or something

that dr who in 95 (or when ever) was so BAD. it was a shame they did that!.

Basic 2: The Revenge

I used to have a crush on McCoy's assistant Ace when I be a nipper - she was pretty cool (well pretty cool to an 8 year old boy anyway)

No Doctor Who is crap science fiction - the shit special effects I can forgive as that is down to budget - the no decent sci-fi concepts, other than a crap time machines and an inexplicable sonic screwdriver is totally unforgivable.

Science fiction is still the preserve of the written word if you ask me...

@Hiro - I was a big V fan too, although can't really call it science fiction, its more an allegory...

Remember this scumbag - I was so pleased when he got tortured to death... hoorah...

Colin Baker was the worst Doctor, easily, can't blame Sylvester McCoy it was on the way out any way and i think he was just trying to inject a bit of lighthearted amusement into it after the Colin Baker, lets do a serious science fiction debacle... Colin Baker killed it...

...though in truth the audience's loss of innocence over science fiction becoming a mass market genre probably killed it. Even people who don't watch science fiction these days are not amazed by several key science fiction ideas or concepts - like matter transportation, ray guns, warp drive, energy shields etc etc...

Grob your opinion on doctor who is silly.
