Yes its in Dorset - small village called beaminster, well, outside it in the woods. My friend who's place it is, has a great understanding of woodcraft - he's big into sustainable environments and also living = working the land, the bender is for guests, I've slept there. He's also trying to make other people aware of the difference between his way of life and what everyone thinks is normal. He'd be very happy to meet you or anyone and talk at great length by the fire - come down sometime decadnids and stay for a weekend or something...His latest thing was tapping the trees for sugar/syrup...have to find out how it went.

yeah have to do that for sure, get spring sprung, and I'll try and sort so,e time out and come down, would be good - need to see more examples of people working with the land rather than against it.

Yeah something like that, people always call me a hippie because I am veggie and into things like that (BTW, I am veggie because I disagree with the meat industry, I do not disagree with humans eating animals, I just feel that as soon as an animal becomes a product all the care goes out the window). If people eat meat they should be willing to go out there and catch and kill and prepare the animal.

you tell me? to me, my experience of hippies have been middle class trustafarians who are as shallow as a very dried up bird bath.

Yeah, agree - I am still veggie, as I don't need to eat meet, but if I wanted to I have no problems with catching rabbits or other "game" as I had done that when I was growing up.

yeah it is totally wicked idea, people will pay you to take tires away, and using them as a means for building living environments is great, as they will be very efficient in retaining heat in the winter, and keeping cool in the summer!

all ya need is a plot of land, and some fucking tires, and some hard work! my dream!!! ;)

for those interested in organic farming, these people are an organisation that has a whole load of members who offer the chance for people to work on an organic farm, or small holding for food and lodgings. a good way to get to know what the whole self-sufficiency is all about.
