So nu-rave is what the kids are listening to these days isit? Just heard klaxons.........."mmm yeah man, like, it's so- what's the term? Yeah nu-rave. Groovy".........

Is it just me or does it strike anyone else how utterly fucking pretentious and shite this is. There's NOTHIN remotely ravey about it.......My, how post-modern. Ohh that's soooo clever wever. Yeah lets just make-up a term based on fuckall. Great.

Look i was reading a copy of N.M.E on rush hour tube to test myself and wanted to tear it up and spit on it. Cocky wankstains. Sod Klaxons, it's all about Art Brut.

don't belive anything you read in the NME...Enemy,
the same impulses that preceed sadomasochism are the ones that make people buy NME...
we've all been there,
the first step is admitting you bought it...

last time i bought NME was when i was about 14 cos it had a song lyrics sheet free with it ...and it had some good songs on it

Sorry i just hate these cocks who make-up new genres of music and then categorise bands to make it easier for idiots to find in the section of H.M.V. cos they don't know what they're talkin about. Plus "nu-rave" is this a pun on "nu-wave" perphaps? As i said before well clever.

i liked nu when it had wave attached, and i liked it when it had romantic attached
come to think of it... that might have been new not nu, is there a difference?

i like rave so i bet i'll love nu-rave

it nu-er innit

I'm just pissed off how cunts who like music, as in the reason your on this forum, fink they are so fukn intelligentooo, about most things as well, but in actual fact they need to go back to school so I can pick them up in my Ford Escort and show them a thing or 2. I'm only 17 as well.

The Klaxons made up the term "nu rave" as a pisstake "to see if we could make up a genre that was shorter lived than electroclash". They're not all that as a band as far as I'm concerned but they're clearly having a laugh, and their fans do loads of pills, so what's the problem?

Does anyone remember seeing LFO on the front cover of NME, smashing up Fenders and Marshall stacks? I loved that. It seemed important and felt like a kind of victory.

Anyone remember nu-techno? Was around a few years back, not entirely sure if it was a genre or just an overly enthusiastic new wave of crap techno lovers who all thought they'd stumbled onto some great new sound.

i don't have a problem with the idea of nu-rave, per se, although from what i've heard of the bands, there appears to be very little in common with rave beyond the use of synths. i'm just glad that the nme and its readers have left behind the dusty reel-to-reel garden shed studio nothing-invented-later-than-1936-was-used-in-the-recording-of-this-album mentality that was so prevalent a few years back, when the stripes and the strokes were peddling their tossy pseudo-amateur hipster wares

Nu rave or neu rave - the original term, goes hand in hand with synthcore, happy hardcore etc. Just a load of media breeze really to describe filtered down, insipid dance music.
