also Carl Craig, Neil Landstrumm live (last time was years ago and he's the shit), Roy Ayers, Company Flow (damn), Miles Davis, oh I could go on and on.

the list could go on...

dirtyho
25th February 2003, 11:48
suburban knight - that would rock!

old skool
25th February 2003, 12:01
Tubejerk
Vogel
Subhead
Forshaw (back where first met him ... in Liverpool!)
Shmidt
Public Enemy
Garnier (doing a 6 hour set again)

How about just Dopplereffekt live then? Gerald could be requested to play some of the Drexciya material anyway. That would be superb, with perhaps Kraftwerk breakdancing during it too lol

Public Enemy are the shit live - i saw them in 1993 (I think) at [cringe] Reading. But they were one of the best acts I've ever seen. I'm going to see them in a couple of months at ATP, with Carl Craig and LFO and Kool Keith - so many good acts
whooah I'm getting excited again

Where did you see them? That would have been superb, they don't do many shows do they?

The closest I ever got was seeing Ectomorph live, and Brendan had hooked up with Erika Sherman by that time but they still played all the early releases (Last Days at Skylab being one of my fave records of all time).

25th February 2003, 12:28
I saw dopplereffekt at WMF / Berlin. think it was also in '98. unfortunately the set was slightly boring - each track was a 15-20 min loop of their old famous songs like porno actress, etc. but it was great to see them anyway...

aleks

i saw them @ stammheim, cannot really remember how they gig was but i like mr. chombee said it was great to see them anyway...

I'd like to see:-
Cabaret Voltaire, swiftly followed by Mr Kirk sprinting to a neighbouring stage to partcipate in a LFO vs Sweet Exorcist head-to-head tweakdown!

I'd love to see Model 500 live, although it will be more than likely be the Model 600 set-up if I ever do. Not that I'm complaining but Atkins going it alone would've been nice to see.

I used to listen to some of his mixes he put on his website. he is technically good, but I thought his record selection was a little on the lame side. too many records by surgeon/regis/ruskin back to back to back. I also heard a few mp3's of his tracks and they seemed good enough I suppose. but I felt he was just imitating surgeon way too much. haven't heard what he's been up to recently.

btw *adding titonton duvante *

there used to be heavy rivalry between the two, but afaik that's in the past, assault also released an ep on databass since, which is godfathers label... check soulseek for godfathers "da bomb" series, good shit!

I used to listen to some of his mixes he put on his website. he is technically good, but I thought his record selection was a little on the lame side. too many records by surgeon/regis/ruskin back to back to back. I also heard a few mp3's of his tracks and they seemed good enough I suppose. but I felt he was just imitating surgeon way too much. haven't heard what he's been up to recently.

mika is a friend of mine so :-p

and diego hostettler is kool!;)

that's cool. I mean I am not trying to talk shit about him. he's been having a lot of stuff come through and getting remixes by regis and a record coming out on dynamic tension, so those guys must see something good. I used to dig on his style but my tastes have changed quite a bit in the last year and half, and now I just don't see him in the same light is all.

it would be great to see isolee playing live. anyone reckon that he does?

He plays live, but his appearances are really very, very rare, even in the Frankfurt area.

I’ve heard him two or three years ago in the Robert Johnson club and it was excellent.

you'd think that if anywhere in the U.S. at least NYC would have some dark techno shows. has the Horrorist and/or Landstrumm made an appearance around town?

that seems like a odd thing to wish for - it seems to me that most djs that also produce feature their stuff heavily... with a few exceptions of course - but definitely not vice versa...

I have seen landstrumm do live pas in nyc. it was back around 97/98. he was living in brooklyn for a while but I am not so sure he is still there.
