just need to get an audio interface for my computer. i had sold my hardware sampler when i got my laptop and wanted to use my laptop for sample processing, but i don't have any audio inputs on it yet. i'm a "found-sound" kind of guy and i haven't done anything that i'm happy with since i lost my sampling capabilities.... it has really improved my knowledge of synthesis though. now i just have to decide between the delta 410 firewire and the audiosport quattro.

marcel
24th February 2003, 14:31
im working on the productioncd right now and will have finished in a few days, sorry for being so slow. after me deccard gets the cd.

pille'ocheoni
24th February 2003, 14:36

hey marcel. send the cd to amble first so we can keep the queue.
i don´t have much time the next 2 weeks and the order of the list seems to be very good.
ischo and me located in ffm...

time keeps on ticking, ticking, ticking....into the future....

These projects will be superb when completed.

dirtyho
24th February 2003, 15:25
Anyone interested in collaboratively producing a video to go with this cd once it's finished? could be another cool project - I guess we'd master it onto dvd - Any takers?

amble
24th February 2003, 15:43
yes marcel send it to me when your ready. i'm currently working on a track that is kind of inspired by that meteorites demo somehow. hope i get that done soon so there will be no big delay. i'll send it to deccard ffm then as i'm doing a trade with him anyway. saves costs for me.

phil
24th February 2003, 15:45
dirtyho

, i would contribute a short sequence you could incorporate done in 3D, if you are compositing it all together that is..

dirtyho
24th February 2003, 15:50
well we could all composite bits of each others stuff together I thought - it's not 3D dolphins with clip-on dreds though is it? I ain't using none of that shit ;)

tsr_tomas
24th February 2003, 15:54
how about we scan the guest book and use picture from that in the video ?
or may be we should just scan it and have picture´s on the site ?

holy shit you guys are organized!!! http://www.dlking.com/images/smiles/smile_approve.gif
i would be proud to sort out a cover if needed.. cause i aint no mixer.. :)

dirtyho
24th February 2003, 15:55
guest book?

tsr_tomas
24th February 2003, 15:57
@dirtyho: eveyone who contribute something to the production cd has a side in a Guest book that they can add anything they want. i added art of stockholm and stranges cartoon´s i think.

tsr_tomas
24th February 2003, 15:58
we still have www.narancicgrafika.com doing the art work.

don´t think hes going to do a music video what i know thou.

dirtyho
24th February 2003, 15:59
wow sounds cool - who got it?

pille'ocheoni
24th February 2003, 18:12
yes at the begining we contacted stefan=ng_user to do the project for us. im sure me and tomas feel the same way about keeping our word with stefan and giving him a big part of creative control. with the video i approve, @dirtyho is the admin over this operation if he accepts this responsibility. for now i feel dirtyho should be the one to contract others inputs, obvisiously consulting with tomas or me. cool?

Sheridan
24th February 2003, 18:18
how come there isn't a guestbook for the dj cd??

tsr_tomas
24th February 2003, 18:20
sheridan: well. coz the one who started the cd would bought the book i guess...
i bought the Production cd guestbook, coz i started the cd...

cheers
tomas

pille'ocheoni
24th February 2003, 18:22
yeah ian your slack damn how could you not do that.............heheheh.just joking...........if you want you can start one and just send it in the order of the list and hopefully it will catch up with the cd

Sheridan
24th February 2003, 18:23
I started the dj cd, but I think the idea for the guestbook came after I had finished my part and mailed it off.
anyway, I don't think I would of had much to offer in way of the guestbook anyway. other than a picture, a signature, a beer bottle cap, and maybe a smashed florida orange. ;)

pille'ocheoni
24th February 2003, 18:26
well your going to be surprised to see the one that has gone around allready i bet.....the pages are fucking awsome............i just was creative and im sure everyone else was too............and to be technical, the guestbok was the first idea to hit this board...........we started it at the very begining. one month before th dj=cd

actionjetzon
24th February 2003, 19:00

24th February 2003, 19:43

thetonewrecker
24th February 2003, 19:45
Did we ever find out if someone has a "connection" with someone who could produce many copies of this? After it's mastered, we don't want to have to sit and make "one-off" copies for everyone to have.

actionjetzon
24th February 2003, 19:46
right!

anybody? ;)

marcel
24th February 2003, 21:29
ok then, ill send the cd to amble when i have finished. ill pm you when i need your address.

im still confused why its not mixed? pille, aj? why? will it be mixed by the last person in the list? or not mixed at all?

@pille i think im still in both lists, or am i too stupid to get what you have said?? i just wanted to say im not able to join the dj-cd. dont want to make you more work, just wanted to make that clear.

cheers

tsr_tomas
24th February 2003, 22:34
@tonewrecker... i might have friend. i´ll talk to him tomorrow... it´s 11:30 pm here. and hes starts to work at 8am i guess.

phono
25th February 2003, 13:51
hmmm... buddies, we need to release it!

it's really amazing project, think will be interesting for a lot of people!

we are from different parts of the world and can make a good distribution!

let's join our resources to achieve this goal!

pille'ocheoni
25th February 2003, 13:52
hell yeah max!.........i cant wit to finish this thing

tsr_tomas
25th February 2003, 13:55
yes... it will be so awesome. we´ll have to find a home for it =)

goinz
25th February 2003, 13:55
phono is right i think its an interisting project with a cd traveling all over the world. I want to have a vinyl release of this cd. fucking great thing.

phono
25th February 2003, 14:16
goinz, you're right!

for me - i want vinyl release of dibu-z ("dirty shoes" as i remember)for example (that i have listen)

goinz
25th February 2003, 14:20
its called "bobs dirty shoes" by dibu-Z, the Name of the track was a co produktion of dibu-Z and myself. Its a funny name i think. A tipical Klangnet thing! dibu-Z is great

pille'ocheoni
25th February 2003, 14:20
if we can find a label to pick up this cd, and or vinyl that would be awsome. it would be a 4 pack of vinyl and 2 cd pack. can you imagine how cool it would be to have that vinyl at home? it would be the greatest gift ever

goinz
25th February 2003, 14:24
its the most greatest thing i can imagine for my self dibu-Z and all the other artist. it will be great to have the 4-vinyl thing in my own case. Yeah lets do IT!

pille'ocheoni
25th February 2003, 14:30
i dont know alot about the whole label thing and who would pick this up.........so im not really sure how to go about getting this to a proper label

tsr_tomas
25th February 2003, 14:32
album on vinyl... yes !
i love it.

goinz
25th February 2003, 14:54
then we have a look for a beauty label for this Projekt

phono
25th February 2003, 14:56
4xvinyl will be not so real as double CD to release

goinz
25th February 2003, 14:58
??@phono vinyl is more interisting all the time

dirtyho
25th February 2003, 14:59
a mate of mine told me you could buy a mini record press from Japan now for about £10,000. It's quite a lot but how cool would that be?

actionjetzon
25th February 2003, 15:00
let us all together found a worldwide company...:)

everybody gives ten dollars/euros in the pot and the financial thing is done ;)

Weishaupt
25th February 2003, 15:02
great idea..............

goinz
25th February 2003, 15:04
Yeah the ideas get better and better. I dream since 6 years of an own press machine. But your ideas were better!

Lets get global ! ! !

pille'ocheoni
25th February 2003, 15:08
the records store i work at has a 1932 record press, im not sure the correct term, but it is in good condition and is big as shit....gene the owner said if i can find dub plates and get it working i can mess around with it......its heavy as shit and its sitting in the basement in a safe case.........its really old and im not sure if it works and i have no idea how to use it but ill do some reserach and see if we can have some fun with that.

also theres a record store in phili that cuts single vinyl for $20. its run by king britt and you can get him on the phone and tell him the situation. thats a option too......but i think a proper record release and a proper label would be the best thing:]

pille'ocheoni
25th February 2003, 15:10
im all about starting a world wide group.........i think we should do that no matter what. :]

phono
25th February 2003, 15:18
goinz, sure, vinyl is more interesting...
but it's DJ thing, for normal audience CD is more right thing...
you can sell easily 1000 CDs than vinyls
for Russia it's truth

piscaries
25th February 2003, 17:12
the vinyl would work if we were all known names, but most of us are unknown.

tsr_tomas
25th February 2003, 18:54
piscaries: yes of course, known names sell probably better... still there are names not totaly unknow that is contributing something to the production. i think it will be great and some label will be glad to go for a release !
i think it would work fine on vinyl and cd.
with the right distrobution it can go really well...

jukka
25th February 2003, 19:09
on vinyl AND cd is an excellent idea !!!
i need that shit as well

goinz
26th February 2003, 09:20
yes then we try both.

piscaries
26th February 2003, 14:07
we can go punk rock style and release them slowly in a 7" or 10" format... but i think the cd idea is the best, however i would really like to see some 12" vinyl... nice 4x with a cool fold-out design. that's 1152 squared inches of space for us to fill up. that's nice...

invisibleplanet
26th February 2003, 14:26
phono has a good point - it could be released first on cd, and the he profits used to run a limited edition vinyl pressings ...separate the tracks by dance, ambient etc. it needs to be completely self-funded.:)

pille'ocheoni
26th February 2003, 14:36
good point cat...........i agree, but the 7 inch sounds so cool......i remeber my punk days and all the fun that went along with the joy of buying vinyl

thetonewrecker
26th February 2003, 14:51
release it on 8 track.

:-)

phil
26th February 2003, 14:53
i can't wait. Maybe we should make "different shape" vinyl, like the afx 303 one. but it could be a robot head with dreds?? i dunno... whaddya reckon??

pille'ocheoni
26th February 2003, 15:07
hell yeah 8 track is the shit...........i just got one the other day to play my 8 tracks from stonesthrow..........stonesthr ow has a 8 track club that releases new stuff by madlib,ynq,pbw...etc.........h avent got em yet ...but soon..........i think when i get ready to send to a big label, im going to make a 8track, with grapics and all and send a portable 8track with it in a box. good reason for them to listen.

phil
26th February 2003, 15:08
i like you .....'s

phaedrus
26th February 2003, 18:21
Regarding the possible release of the dj-mix, I'd say cd-only. If it's on vinyl, it has lost its original purpose.
I think it would be a great idea to release it however. Once it's done, maybe we could sell promotional copies to labels that could be interested...just a thought..

Joris

Sheridan

hey paul, did you vote for jesse ventura when he ran for governor?

I voted for Jesse Ventura because he was good in the movie "Predator". Those skills came through as a governor. Some people were really pissed off. Oh joys of politics.

there may be a Jesse Ventura image in the guestbook...true minneapolis images. (see how I try to keep this thread on track..sad sad attempt)

I don't think jesse ventura was in running man. but then again I haven't seen that movie in a long time. but he was in predator for sure.
he had the coolest line in the whole movie:
some other guy: 'yo man, your bleeding!'
jesse: 'I ain't got time to bleed!'

top notch. until he got his guts blown out.

yeah sort of glass style.............sort of a jamie lidell muddlin gear clicky, static, broken video tape style beats with tin can snares, metal poles as kick drums, tweaked out hithats, with volin and chelo as the main theme. randomness is the key element im trying to acomplish with the faint stucture of downtempo and jazz. its for a possible ep.........so well se what happens

I enjoy the new version of Acid 4.0 in that you can change time sigs every beat or measure if you feel like it . Music can suddenly turn into rush hour traffic. Starting and then slamming on the brakes and then going again, very unexpected changes all over. You can't see everything that's coming up.... suddenly swerving...people honking horns, waving middle fingers, and that's just the first 10 seconds of a song.

powerful stuff.

@ Tonewrecker, Philp glass is the man, I love his soundtracks.

I can't wait for the CD to make it this way, i just got some new gear and Reason 2.0. Time to make some crazy shit. I mostly use old ass gear (I love my OG Akai Sampler, yamaha seq, 4 track) I don't really use software, I like machines, but damn these programs got everything right there for you.

this is exactly what i try to achieve in my own music. constant change, and motion similar to water in a storm, constantly changing, every loop is differnt, ive been playing with 5/4 signatures lately, trying to acomplish the typical pink floyd reaction to rhythm. blending differnt signatures together and bringing them back to a conclusion at differnt points in the song causes the listener to really listen. i like this. unexpected change is good, and devolps the listener into a true tourist. /p

That sounds cool John, You are way into it bro, so it must be good

The reason is working out good, really makes things easier, but not as fun, when it comes to the rigging and hands on experience. But you can do a ton of shit.

Must invest in a Micro recorder, and more powerstrips:)
Oh 1/4 to RCA cables, you simply never have enough of those
