Ayuasca is drank, DMT has no effect if taken orally it has to be injected or smoked...

Ayuasca is a highly toxic brew which poisons a shamans body, as DMT is a substance that can occur naturally in the brain, the body metabolises it really quickly - hence a DMT trip being over quite rapidly - however, if you have poisoned your body, it is less able to deal with metabolising the hallucinogenic compounds and thus increases a half trip to one that could potential be several hours...

I'll be staying away from all that kind of thing though...
I often wondered to myself, that if young men had more love and sex and girlfriends and stuff, that they maybe wouldn't get so hgh on dangerous drugs...
but it's just a theory.

mate, one of the major active ingredients on ayuasca is dmt,it is digested due to the MAO inhibitors that are part of the brew. so as we didnt want another smokable thing in the game, we went for ayuasca as the form for DMT.

the use of drugs as purely recreational, is a waste, the use of drugs in the sense of shamanic, religious experiences that are based on the culture that that person is within, to me is a different kettle of fish.

hmmmmmmm. i think that is noble but, it can be a form of denial too, i used to think this, but soon discovered my pathalogical loop holes and began being true to myself. just my thoughts.

I was not refering to myself, as I do not do psychadelics anymore, I was just making a statement that I believe that using drugs in a shamanic, religious sense if that is part of your belief system is as valid as anything else. what I was trying to get across is that I don't really agree with the mis-use of drugs, in the sense of doing it for doing its sake.

I know what you're saying dec, but I think it applies mostly to hallucinogens. Cocaine or amphetamines are probably not used in a shamanic, religious sense very often. I think a distinction needs to be drawn, alcohol is a drug for instance. Some drugs are not for having "fun" and are probably psychologically risky if used this way - others are probably perfect for this kind of usage - each to his own eh?

yeah total agree with you,
alcohol, cocaine opium all major "natural" drugs have been used within shamanic rituals.
