The night was really legendary, playing on their home turf in Edinburgh I was expecting something pretty special and the music was the dogs bollocks. As I walked in I heard the Landsturmm and Horrorist track The Boy Who Held His Breath Too Long played which really set me up as it's one of my favorite tracks at the moment.
Tube Jerk was excellent playing a a bunch of tracks from the new album and the old and mixing them up nicely, wasn't doing anything out of the ordinary but with Tim at the helm he really doesn't need to.
The last set by Dave was just messy for me. I'd got a number of sweeties at the start of the night and I'd decided to double drop to make sure it was a special night, unknown to me these were some of the strongest pills we'd seen in a while with lots of MDA in them and I'd also taken a third one at some point in the club just to hardcore it. I was fairly mashed of my head and tripping from the MDA as well so I can't remember much about the last set apart from it being some of the best music I've ever heard.
My friends were also highly impressed with the night, none of them are really fans of the whole Sativa/Neue Heimat sound with them liking a mixture of hard and banging techno or drum and bass. Everyone was impressed with the music which really did take it to another level.
Definately one of the most impressive nights I've been to despite the venue being a bit shoddy. The sound engineering was apparanly a bit bollocks with the bass being out of phase and the layout of the place meant there was a constant movement of people walking on the dancefloor which got annoying after a while.
I definately hope they repeat this at some point in the future, they should do, after all Edinburgh is where Sativa kicked off many years ago later giving birth to Sativae. It was good to have a one off featuring one of my favorite DJ's and my favorite live act but it would have been better if they were doing this month in month out! Ah well I can but hope I can cobble together money to start up my own night at some point.

It was a Sativa night, a one off thing apparantly and not a regular one. I'd love to see Sativa run monthly again like it did in the 90's as I wasn't in Edinburgh at that time (or into techno!) so I missed out on it totaly.
And yeah I'm in Edinburgh, check my location below my avatar!
