this way of punishing other states is nothing new for the us.
it´s new that a state like germany gets punished for "misbehaviour".

here's a thing that occurred to me the other day when watching the news about france - france has had lots of terrorist attacks from arabs in the past. maybe this partly explains why they are so nervous about joining the invasion - france is full of potential terrorists. i haven't heard anyone mention this on the british news for some reason.

k...........im just a poduct of my own stupid country and their stupid decisions. im forced to have such strong opioions in issues that cause this country to hate each other, i feel i have to defend my own ground even against the country that says im free. im forced to be part of a draft if it ever comes into effect. i just dont want to be forced anymore.

ill be the first one to say it. my country and their decisions are one of the most arogant, ignorant, selfish, capitalisms in the world. we contridict are selves and defy the very essence of what we call the constituion, bill of rights, etc...

hehe, that's pretty funny considering bmw opened a huge factory over in alabama when I lived there, really helping the economic situation in that area...if you buy a beamer in the us, you are ensuring a lot of American jobs as well...

U'right, it was important for the french gouyvernment to have great relations With the Usa, However this doesn't mean we can't have our own opinion ...

I think the whole sanctions thing is the usa taking this way overboard. we are going to get ourselves into way more trouble in the future with these kinds of actions. this type of separation can really end up harming us.

read this:
US plans for NEW nuclear arsenal (http://www.guardian.co.uk/usa/story/0,12271,898550,00.html)
"To me it indicates there are plans proceeding and well under way ... to resume the development, testing and production of new nuclear weapons. It's very serious," said Stephen Schwartz, the publisher of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, who added that it opened the US to charges of hypocrisy when it is demanding the disarmament of Iraq and North Korea.
"How can we possibly go to the international community or to these countries and say 'How dare you develop these weapons', when it's exactly what we're doing?" Mr Schwartz said.

well, don't apologise, and don't feel ashamed, because this renders u helpless, and I guess that's what the right wing would like u to feel about yourself.
I think it takes more mental strength to be a liberal in today's climate of intolerance and right wing governments.
For years, the right, with the likes of the Rush Limbaugh Show or programmes hosted by Oliver North and G Gordon Liddy, have set the agenda, according to supporters of the new network. Now, they say, is the time to fire some broadsides from the left.

How old are you? Unless you're 20, you probably don't have to worry about the draft even if it were to happen. I believe (traditionally) they start drafting 20 year olds then step out in alternate years (ie 20 then 19 then 21 etc etc.)
I suggest David Cross' new double cd for some serious comedy relief.

And I read in a Belgian newspaper yesterday US attorney general Ashcroft writes his own gospel songs and then organizes prayer meetings for his department so everybody can sing along.
'The Eagle soares'.... I'm not kiddin u. Would be hilarious, but these nutcases actually govern the most powerful nation in the world.
I wonder if this story is any further from the truth than the one run by Fox last week, in which the Belgian military was depicted as 'too fat and too old to fight anything but their own foul breath'
