Do you ever listen to music on tiny narrow bad speakers like on a laptop?
If so, what kind of music do you like to listen to that way. Most music sounds terrible, but some even sounds better. Like Taylor Deupree's Stil sounds crisper and Ryoji Ikeda's Dataplex sounds like the sounds are coming from inside the laptop.

I was listening to old school rave tunes the other day on my laptop. It sounded crap, but my brain filled in the gaps in the music from memory, so it was ok.

Old rave and hardcore and things like Zed Bias sound ok because the vocals are so pitched up :)

i'm listening to an isolée live recording on shit laptop speakers at the moment because i can't be arsed plugging it in, it's grand. you're right though, raster noton/12k stuff sounds different but great on shit speakers, so does brian eno style ambient - bit like that buddha machine thing which i love the sound of.
