lol

Deffo is scouse-slang for 'definitely' ...

And yeah Liverpool is cool mate, just don't believe the hype ! Nice people, good atmosphere etc. The clubs (well when there was a few) tend to have the best atmosphere around. Anyone who was there in Voodoo's halycon days will testify to that.

You'll have to check it out sometime.

out in the streets tommorow protesting against the war. Is it all just partying for you lot?

Marolo
14th February 2003, 14:48
Lets party in the streets. some people will be in the Royal Festival Hall bar in London at 12pm, moving swiftly over the bridge for the start of the march at 12.30

Bring some bananas for a marching band salute as we
pass downing street (for once i am not recommending they be thrown or
planted - just for a salute)

please participate in any way wherever you are if you possibly can

Soz dude, but tomorrow day will be spent in a frazzled state after a heavy night, when I'm annoying everyone with obscure electronic music when everyone wants me to put 'The Salon' on instead.

And they won't win.

The Salon ... what is the world coming to ....

i have been protesting !
I've written to the PM.
I've made countless message board topics.
I've let my thoughts and feelings be known.
Tomorrow, I will stand outside the cathedral, with a small homemade banner, and quietly protest some more - for about an hour ....

And this is a good thing ....

lets see, I saw herbert on wednesday and that pretty much zapped all my funds. and there is nothing to do this weekend so I'll probably end up sitting around the house and prepare the neil landstrumm live set I have that I was planning on posting on the ftp.

i had a great night last night. a bunch of us that write hip-hop and jazz had a little session downtown in a little coffe bar. it took place in the movie house in the back but was a great show. i hope this stays around. it was just awsome going to a postive hip-hop show. i had a fantastic night.

I went to a sauna evening, had a nice dinner and played monopoly, smoking way too many spliffs and ending up losing, followed by a cold journey homewards. all in all a fulfilling night =)

jukka
16th February 2003, 18:10
typical finish___sauna&relax evening ;)
do you have the same problem when you are playing monopoly that at some point everybody starts to cheat ?

thats why i haven't played it for ages now lol

We just put on our largest 'Ecky thump' party ever. We had over 1000ppl on 3 levels. a drum'n'bass level, a techno level and a noise/experimental level. Absolutely astounded at how big it was - made loads of money - it was a fund raising gig for tha radio station where i work. Its soo nice to know non-commercial dance musik and fukked up shit can still pull a big crowd in a shitty town like brisbane..now i'm gonna slip back into my coma... wotta mad weekend.

darn it emma, i didn't! RH had me transfixed!
Jay Denham couldn't make it - his visa didn't have the correct stamps on it (or something like that) so he was turned back at the airport :( hopefully it will be sorted out for the rest of the tour.

The Orbit was absolutely buzzing that night....R H is on at Intergalactic Funk in Manchester's Music Box on the First Friday of March...I think i'll go along to that, if I have any money left after dedbeat!

emma, will u tell me next time sascha dj's nearby - and then i'll make a point of checking him out, please!

hmm that sounds funny about jay denham. I thought he moved out of kalamazo and moved to london.

actually, denham lives in some relatively small town in the middle of germany nowadays, I believe it's ingolstadt...

invisibleplanet
18th February 2003, 08:03
yeah - anywhere in germany is better than london.
the lack of common sense in the uk, makes me maaaad! we don't have facilities to recylce our household rubbish, and this is causing me much concern. the uk are way behind in green issues.

well I think I'd rather live in London than Ingolstadt, IP lol

For people like Denham moving to Germany is probably a smart move because that is very likely to be the main supplier of gigs... nonetheless, quite funny if one checks denhams places of residence: kalamazoo, then london, then ingolstadt lol

gunjack

ingolstadt = the kalamazoo of germany

jukka
18th February 2003, 18:35
yeah, a friend of me owned it_____i totally dig it !!!

when i saw him playing he mixed very fast and even played the tracks very fast :)

aleks
18th February 2003, 18:37
he played maybe around 146-148 bpm or so and some stupids idiots still screaming faster and harder...what a bunch of twats.

jukka
18th February 2003, 18:56
