Hard to say which track I like best on that one, love the weird downtempoish end of the world vibe he has going on on some of the tracks...been after it for ages, basically ever since I picked up khan - bolero on the same label

that is one of the most evil records I have ever heard - It caused a fight between me and an old flatmate - he bought it, put it on, got all excited, and I ran out screaming - he was not chuffed - it was a big deal to him, it's quite a difficult record to get a hold of ?

fukking awfull record IMO, but if ur into that shit - I guess it's the shit.

Never really been a fan of Alec Empire, some of his stuff on force inc was OK, but I never really got into punky stuff like that or thrashy abrasive hardcore.

ATR were OK, they did that Nazi punks fuck off or summat didn't they, that was OK, preffered the message to the actual tune, one of my good mates is a big fan of theirs.

I like some of the dhr stuff tho, quite mental.

ATR did a song called something like 'Hunt down the Nazis', I think it was The Dead Kennedy's who did 'Nazi Punks Fuck Off'.

I've been looking for that one for a good 10 years, so yes I'd say it's difficult to get a hold of. I think it's ahead of it's time, makes the whole breakcore thing seem pretty tired really.

damn straight man - I don't personally like it, but I do give it props, that and the whole dhr thing got a lot to answer from.

I don't like breakcore either, but no disrespect to it likes - a lot of my friends love it.

venetian snares is about as much as I can handle on that tip, even then , some of his stuff just makes me feel all dirty and horrid inside :)

maybe that's the point.

whenever I think of breakcore - I think of zz top for some reason, maybe cuz venetian snares looks like zz top on acid.

i've kind of got mixed feelings about it - i like it, but i can't bring myself to actually listen to it most of the time. i don't believe i've met anyone in real life who's been able to sit through more than 30 seconds. i used to drop jailhouse cock rocks the most at parties to piss people off

My favourite ATR track, recorded live at Glasgow's Barrowlands on the album release! "Delete Yourself - You Have No Chance To Win"

Delete Yourself is a proper record.

Destroy 2000 Years of Culture is fantastic, too.

Also Raverbashing and Midijunkies

hehe, I need to have a beer with you just so that you can revise the above statement then ;)

still, tracks like 'Take Away' are what really does it for me on that one...

I really like the Alec Empire vs. Merzbow live album as well

I have a cd of atr live at the brixton academy. I can't remember when it was recorded. but it is the band minus carl crack who was kept in europe because of some visa issue or something. it was the last show on a long, hard and drug fueled tour. it is basically 30-40 minutes of noise, squelches and terror. it is very hard to sit through and I have only done it twice.

ATR are almost totally unique - Alec is one of techno's most authentic personalities - Carl Crack was out there alright , imagine a really messed up Ol' D B at a never ending hardcore party.

My favourite is still Revolution , with that awesome video clip - i spin that album sometimes when I get the chance to do a proper punk and alternative set.

I remember playing with them, at the Nelson Mandela hall at Sussex Uni , I helped the ents manager bring them over and programmed a night with Dave Clarke , ATR and me , back when I was a student - must have been 1993 ? Thats when I heard a 909 at 250 bpm over a rig for the first time.
