Introduction to Meteorites...

Well , as regular members of the board know , we are very excited about our new signing to Rise Robots Rise Records , namely the wonderful Meteorites!

They have finally finished production and mixing on the album , and go to cut at D'n'M in Berlin on the 13th Feb... we have some 7's on the way as promo , and we plan to begin some push on the board over the next week... Maxwell , the lyrical mastermind of the duo, Roccness being the beat mechanic... very soon, I plan to get Maxwell in front of the ADSL terminal for you all to get to know him , via the board - we'll start a thread up , and you can leave some messages for him to answer ... he doesn't really 'do' internet , so it's really a chance for you all to ask whatever you like... tomorrow afternoon , I will post a public preview mp3 of the forthcoming single from the Meteorites up-coming album , Dub the Mighty Dragon ! , as a little taster ...

Well , Maxwell is actually sick in bed at the moment , hopefully he will be better before the weekend!

@Weishaupt - I'm concerned about you! get some sleep! ... first of all , although I may be executive producer on this project , the ideas and concepts and music production are all to do with Max Turner and Marcus Roccness , who RRR r attempting to introduce to your brainworms...They come from a different perpendicular to Toby, me, Jamie etc.... I find it strange to read your imaginings, and then read that you think 'friendly' music as you call it , is not an interesting thing for you... In my opinion the music of the Meteorites is simple yet powerful , and not at all what it might first seem...

now this is quite different from that i think although it possibly covers the same subject. :D but those guys who crash in from above (i.e. from hamburg, no surprise... ;) ) seem to be so kind (but not friendly :D) and well-produced that you can't help liking it. it's so naive (no offense) that you can't deny it's nice. i usually don't dig naive stuff, perhaps mostly because it's often an excuse for being naive about the production quality as well (as technique (skill) and feeling is a contradiction, you know the old story...). but there's something about this. sometimes you hear a track on the radio and think: 'aah i'd love to destroy this cheesy pop song by doing a harsh remix of it' but i wouldn't want to do it with this one.

I dig it - my only problem is that it reminds me a little bit of that Butterfly Girl song by those nightmare scumfucks who were all over MTV a year or so ago... can't even remember their name, but the vocallist Shifty Shellshock did that "dance all night to this DJ" song with paul oakenfold...

hmmmm... I think it remindes off "radianations on the rise" somehow... maybe its when the synth/string sound comes in, almost the same sound.
about the track then, I think it sound abit to clean if you compare with the SC sound. to little sounds in the background that lifts up the track. but its still very good and I like it.

first thing - a cool beat, kinda dancehallish - the underlying melody reminds me a bit of that enimen track feat. d-12 "I'll shit on you" or whatever it's called. For me, this is too smooth, it leaves nothing left to grasp, so to speak. My other problem is that I'm having difficulty relating to these vocals and their intonation - they call into my mind a careless moment in a warm and sunny place, but somehow everything is just too sugary, too naive. Otoh I might feel different about this track if it weren't extremely cold outside, but it certainly lacks the impressive feeling I got when first listening to the last few s_c release (it must not be great to have one work compared to another, apologies for that)...

Finally got to hear the CD last night, and it is absolutely fantastic album, wicked production job!!!
