I just watching the dvd and its pretty impressive with the big orchestra and stuff, really worth checking out...if not to say, its a must for everyone who love them! great

yes I enjoyed it immensely myself. although I never actually sat down and watched it. I would always put it on and then do some work on my computer. it always helped put my mind in 'concentration mode'.

is this the same as the fantastic live cd that was out a few years ago? still by far the best ive heard? any more word on a new portishead album rumour that was going on here a while back?

I think the cd and the dvd are the same, but I am not sure. and who knows about a new album.

yes, its the same...but theres also some nice bonus matrial on the dvd. i have it on vinyl, not on cd, and i miss wandering stars and numb on it, which are definitive in versions on the dvd i´ve never heard before. but maybee there on the cd.
further are some video clips on it.

theres definite no new album by them, but a solo album by Beth Gibbons. I heard its very calmy without that overwhelming portishead instrumentals

that album was released today, haven't checked it yet. it features the former talk talk bass player as musician. they're also touring germany this month and i'll take a look at it...

beth gibbons & rustin man - out of season

you´re right c s. it´s paul webb on bass but also production. it´s talk talk´s lee harris on drums and it´s talk talks producer phill brown producing. i have this album and i like it. i don´t think it´ll be on of my all time faves but it has the quality to grow. my favourite tracks so far: #3 (show) and #10 (rustin man).

What's up people !!
Some days ago I posted a topic called Alien, well, allmusic.com says that Alien is the name of the new portishead Album.
I really trust the allmusic database, but I haven't found anything else than rumours, no sound samples or anything.
For sound samples on the new Beth Gibbons go to

just came home from the concert by beth gibbons & rustin man - it was short but great! i can only recommend it to everybody. it was not as dark & electronic as portishead but still strange enough, brilliant sound, brilliant voice, great songs.. cool!
